I took a deep breath in before exiting the car. His house was incredible! It looked to be about three times the size of my house. I hurried to catch up with Skye, who was already at the door.
Once we were inside, I was over whelmed by the interior of the house. I would have never guessed his family was so wealthy. I could see a formal living room, with a grand piano in it, and a formal dining room. I felt like if I moved too much I’d break something. I saw Skye watching me and he started laughing at my reaction to everything. I just shrugged and fought back a blush.
“Hey you want something to drink?”
“Yeah sure whatever you have.”
I followed him in to the kitchen and sat down at the bar. He handed me a soda and leaned against the counter.
“So what do you think of the place?”
“It’s amazing.”
“Yeah you think so? I think it’s a little too big for my taste but it works.”
He let out a little laugh. I love his smile. I can’t help but to still wonder about the phone call. What did he have to say to Kayla? I guess he noticed my inner thoughts because he turned to me and asked me what I was thinking about.
“Oh nothing, it’s just last night I heard you call and was wondering what it was about.”
I felt so stupid for saying this but I really wanted to know. I just looked down at my soda.
“When I talked to Kayla? It was about later today we are meeting up after school.”
My heart sunk when he said this. I read him all wrong. He wasn’t in to me he was in to my sister. He just wanted to be friends. I took in another deep breath to calm myself back down.
“So what do you want to do? I would say the pool but it’s too cold out there. Down stairs we have an entertainment center and a pool table.”
“Sounds good.”
Once again I followed him, but this time I wasn’t doing a whole lot of looking around. My mind was too busy running through my memories trying to see where I had gone wrong. When he got down stairs he turned around and smiled.
“This is my favorite room!”
My heart melted right then and there. He was gorgeous. His beautiful black hair falling into his eyes. I am doomed! I was falling for someone who wasn’t into me. So we decided on a movie and then played some pool when it was over. Next thing I knew, it was time to leave. We were having such a great time hanging out I didn’t want it to end.
At the same time school let out Skye drove me back home. Once I was in my room I flew back on my bed and just laid there.
“I’m crazy to think out here in the middle of nowhere I would find that perfect someone for me!”
