Layla was excited cause today meant baseball. Baseball meant a storm. Something that made Layla excited for. She felt her butterfly necklace get put on making her smile. "Thank you." She tells him as she turned around. "I'm excited."

"Of course you are." He said. "We all know you love storms."

Layla smiled at Emmett and kissed him. Rosalie and Stefan walked in making them smile seeing Emmett and Layla. "Ready?" The two heard.

Layla looked and smiled as she saw Rosalie and Stefan. She nodded and ran upstairs to get her hat. Rosalie looked at her best friend. "You didn't tell her about Bella."

"She already knows." Emmett tells them as he looked towards the stairs. "She heard Edward tell Bella the other day.which resulted and her leaving before she could truly harm someone."

Layla appeared downstairs with a smile. Emmett saw her with her hat on and ready to go. He walked over and kissed her which made her giggle. "Let's go." Layla said making them nod.

Layla was tossing the ball at Alice as Emmett and Stefan threw the ball, Rosalie and Jasper did batting practice. The sound of Emmett's Jeep alerted them. Layla sighed knowing this game will take forever.

Bella and Edward arrived and the first person they was Layla. She was smiling as she threw the ball to Alice. Rosalie on the other hand was glaring. She didn't want that human near Layla. Layla was like her child, but Esme and Carlisle adopted her. That didn't stop her for claiming Layla as hers.

"Bella, your just in time."

"She thinks we cheat." Emmett said as he walked by.

"That's because you do, Em." Layla said as she skipped to his side. "I love you though."

"I love you." Emmett said as Stefan called out his name. With a quick kiss, Emmett left for the field with Edward.

Layla looked at Bella and sighed. "I guess I can give you a shot."

Bella smiled and nodded. All she wanted was to know Layla. She wanted to help find out who her parents are and why she was abandoned. "It's time." Alice tells them making Layla Hale smile.

Layla was keeping score as she was focused. She was shocked that Bella was doing good her first time. She looked back at the field to see Alice staring off. "Alice?"

Alice looked at her little sister scared of what is coming. "Stop!" Emmett was by Layla's side immediately. "They we're leaving, but they heard us play."

Layla looked at Emmett and smiled as she kissed him. "I have you to protect me."

"Always."

Emmett kept his arm around his mate as they watched the tree line. Layla was a little worried as Bella was there and that could be the big problem as her blood smelt good. They saw three people slowly walk out with red eyes making Emmett hold Layla closely.

Layla started focusing on her breathing. She blanked out the conversation till the blonde turned. "You brought a snack." He claimed and smelt a scent that sends chill down the cold ones spin. "You have Tribrid."

"How do you..."

The nomads left before Layla could say anything. She looked at Emmett, who was glaring. "What did he mean?"

"I don't know and I wonder how he knew you were a Tribrid.' Emmett tells her. "Let's get you home."

Layla nodded and ran with Emmett. Her mind replaying what just happened. How did he know?
