Chapter 5

I was frozen in place as I watched Subaru left.

He kissed me. Why would he do such a thing?

"Hey momiji." Haru called me snapping me out of my thoughts. Quickly shaking my heard to clear the blush from my face.

"Yes what is it?" I asked trying to sound normal. But to no avail because Haru saw through me.

"What did he do to you?" He asked frowning. He was very worried.

"He... uh..." I didn't want to answer but I knew Haru wouldnt leave until he got an answer.

"Momiji." He warned crossing his arms. Thinking about it made me blush.

"He.... uhm... kissed me..." I stuttered out feeling my cheeks get warmer. I knew my face was red. I just didn't know how red and I really hoped that it wasnt visible in the dark.

"He what?" Haru asked frown disappearing. Surprise replaced anger immediately. I looked up to see his crossed arms fell to his sides and his eyes widen.

"He kissed me." I said. A little more sturdy than before. I accepted it. He kissed me and theres no way around it. And he did it willingly.

"Why would he do that?" Haru asked in a whisper. I saw him frown but almost immediately it disappeared and his eyes widened once again. Except with realization. He knew something I didn't.

"What?" I asked in a soft voice. I was afraid of his answer but I also needed to know. If he knew why Subaru kissed me then I wanted to know.

"He might like you." He answered softly as if he didnt want it to be true.

"What if Akito finds out?!" I asked him in worry. "What will he do to him?"

"What will he do to us? Is what we should be asking. Forget about him he can handle himself." He replied crossing his arms.

"I don't want anyone to get hurt." I said pain leaking through my voice.

"He'll be fine. He's a lot stronger then Akito remember? " Haru said soothingly placing a comforting hand on my shoulder.

"Yeah I know but still." I said tears welling up in my eyes. "If akito finds out we'll be trouble."

"I know." Haru said in a whisper. Either way we were doomed. For either running away and not helping her or for not telling her anything about Subaru. Either way were going to get punished. "We're going to get punished." I said voicing my thoughts. Tears leaked out of my eyes slowly sliding down my face as I realized.

"I know." Haru repeated softly. His hand dropped down to his sides. He was frustrated, at who I wasnt sure. He clenched his fists so tight his knuckles turned white.

"Subaru will protect us." I said trying to lighten the mood and give us hope.

"He wont always be around." Haru said. He was right. Subaru might not get to us in time.

"He'll come eventually. Right?" I asked haru hope clear on my face.

"If he doesnt know what's going on he might not." He replied looking away. Apparently he couldn't stand to see the hope disappear from my face. "We'll have to tell him somehow."

"How?" I asked.

"I don't know. The only way I know how to is go to school and hope they're there or go to shigures. But there's no guarantee." He said thinking. "We should've asked where they lived."
