I thought I would be angry by the time Eric explained whatever he was explaining but No, I felt pity and sorry for him. He was also a victim just like me.

I finally understood what the adage 'Don't judge a book by its cover' meant. But then it was already late, too late to retract his step.

"Omotara, Omotara, Tara." His voice jolted me out of my thoughts

"Yes... Oh sorry for zoning out." I said

"It okay, so have you forgiven me?" He asked nervously

"Yes Eric, I have forgiven you because it was not all your fault." I said while sipping my drink

"Thank you so much for forgiving me, you can never know how much it mean to me." He said happily

"You welcome Eric." I said smiling

"But Omotara, I have a favor to ask." He said

"What can that be?" I asked him

"Can you take me back into your life?" He asked nervously

"No Eric, is already too late. You have Anabelle now." I said sadly but I hid it immediately

"Anabelle and I never got intimate together." He said

"Really, so you mean you never had anything with her?" I asked because I was surprised

"Yes, not even Anabelle alone but with other ladies for the past seven years." He said proudly

"Wow, this is unbelievable, for a typical Eric, it is very unbelievable." I said finally

"Yeah, I know you will say that but I changed ever since you came into my life." He said sadly

"Oh okay, but still I can't take you back now because I don't have the strength for Anabelle problems, that girl can be dangerous." I said finally

"Leave Anabelle matters, do you still love me?" He asked

"Yeah I do." I replied

"Since we both love each other, our love can fight and win any battle, just trust it." He said with a reassuring smile

"I know, but let's be friends now...  FRIENDS?" I said while stretching my hands for handshake

"FRIENDS." He said after shaking my hands

I didn't know that I had talked that much but then I had to let it out and I was so happy I did. I was super happy that Omotara finally forgave me.

I tried asking her if she could take me back though I knew it was too early but part of me longed for a Yes from her but then I got a No.

She offered friendship but am happy she confessed her love which gave me the opportunity to shoot my shot anytime because I still got a space in her heart.

I smiled at myself as I thought about her reaction when I told her there was nothing between Anna and I.

(Phone ring: Pamela)
"Yes Pamela, tell me." I said as soon as I picked the call

"Sir, you have an urgent meeting with Wilston Petrochemical Ltd." She said at the other end

"Really, why are you just informing me now?" I asked

"Am so sorry sir, it was an impromptu meeting." She said

"Okay, what time?" I asked

"3pm sir." She said
