Different Beginning

Demi POV

   The next day I took my time getting out of bed. I finally made my appearance downstairs around noon. 

"Hey sweetie there's food on the stove, we are going down to the beach today if you wanna join us" Denise said 

"Thanks mom, I was wondering is it okay if I invited Miley over" I asked going to grab a water out of the fridge. 

"Of course sweetie if you need a ride ask Kevin" Denise said walking towards her room. Now that I made my appearance time to lock myself in my room again. I called Miley and told her I needed her. Luckily she was on a break from working and was going to get dropped off with Noah too. 

   I was doing my hair when Joe come into my room though the bathroom. 

"Get out" I said not looking at him 

"Can we talk" He asked coming a little more into my room 

"No, Get out" I said pissed 

"Come on D, you know we couldn't continue" He said and I slammed my straightener on my vanity 

"No your right, we couldn't continue but we knew that from the start. Nothing stop us before. Admit it. You like being in the public eye and being in a public relationship puts you on the cover of every magazine/ news article" I said pissed trying to keep my cool so the whole house wouldn't hear us 

"I'm sorry D, but I really like AJ and I'm sorry if that hurts you" He said and I let out a fake chuckle. 

"Fuck you Joe, you know how I feel about you and what happened I thought you only had feelings for me. Huh I'm just so stupid to think there will ever be anything between us" I said pissed 

"I'm sorry" he said and left my room. Tears where in my eyes again. 

Two can play at this game. 

Miley and Noah came over. We took Noah down to the beach where Madi and Frankie where with Denise and Paul. Miley and I went back up to my room. While I was in Puerto Rico we both where to busy to call each other. So when we started talking we talked about everything that been going on since we last spoken. Once I told her about Joe and Aj she was pissed too for me and wanted to go off on him but I told her not to. 

"Well what about Cody, you guys seem to hit it off then he came over" She asked 

"We texted each other while I was in Puerto Rico, but it was just as friends" I said 

"Well we both know he has a huge crush on you, you should give him a chance" Miley said

"Maybe your right" I said unsure

"Well you can keep locking yourself in your room and try to pretend like Joe doesn't live in the same house as you or you can put your big girl pants on and fight back by giving Cody a call" Miley said handing me my phone. 

"Your right, I can't let Joe think I'm missable without him" I said and dialed Cody number. 

   He answered wide away. We talked for a bit till he invited me out on a date next weekend since he was busy at the moment having long hours shooting something. 

   Over the next week Joe and I just been avoiding each other. It was kinda easy since he was alway out with Aj. Nick and Miley where dating again so he was also never home. Kevin loved showing Dani around California I think he was trying to convince her to move here. So they where also never home. I spent a lot of time with Layla just taking it easy watching movies, going to the beach or even shopping she knew how to drive so they let us use Kevin old car when ever we liked. Just as long my grades where up. 

It was finally the evening Cody was taking me out he was coming to pick me up at 7. Layla was helping me get ready. 

"Do you know where he's taking you" She asked 

"I'm not sure, he just said it was a surprise"I said drying my hair with a towel before I blow dry it.  

"If it's a surprise it better be a good one" Layla said laughing 

"I'm so nervous I haven't been on an actual date since my last boyfriend in Texas" I said 

"What could go wrong" Layla said. Man I hope she didn't just jinx me.

   Layla helped me get ready and I was ready right at 7. Cody said he'll be here at 7 but called me he was having car trouble. I asked him if he wanted to reschedule he said no he'll be here as soon as he can. He didn't show up till Two hours later around 9. He rang the door bell but I rushed to open it before anyone else. Paul was quick and was right behind me. 

"Hey sorry I'm late" He said handing me flowers 

"It's okay I'm glad your here" I said smiling at him 

"And I'm Paul, Nice too meet you" He said and shook Cody hand 

"Nice meeting you sir, I promise not to have her home to late" Cody said 

"12 the latest" Paul said looking at me the  Cody than back to me 

"Yes Dad, can you put these in water for me" I asked handing Paul the flowers and taking Cody hand to help me go down the stairs 

"Don't be late" Paul said and headed back inside 

"Sorry about him" I said as Cody went to go open my door for me 

"Hey it's no problem, I respect over protective dads" Cody said laughing and I got into his car and he went around and got in the driver's seat. 

"I gotta admit, I haven't been on a date since I was dating this boy in Texas" I said shyly 

"Well I'm honored to take you out, I hope I don't do anything wrong I really do like you Demi" He said making me blush. He started his car and it kinda made a weird noise before Cody slowly started driving off. 

"I like you to" I said and he took my hand giving it a kiss than holding it while he drives. Not even 10 minutes later his car started acting up we had to pull over. He got out and popped the hood open. I got out to. 

"Should I call a cab" I asked 

"It's okay I got it. Can you hold this" He asked handing me a flashlight since it was pretty dark out. He didn't take long to fix the problem. We got back in the car and arrived at a stake house not even 10 minutes later. 

   Dinner was amazing they took a little longer than we thought. Cody didn't get me home till almost 1. 

"I hope I don't get you in trouble" Cody said walking me up to the front door 

"No, it's okay hopefully they understand" I said 

"So can I see you again" He asked 

"Most definitely call me" I said giving him a kiss before heading inside. Paul was in the living room waiting for me. 

"Do you have any idea how late it is" Paul said kinda mad 

"I know I'm sorry, he got here late cause of car trouble and on our way to the restaurant the car broke down again and we had to pull over. Luckily he was able to fix it and brought me home safe." I said hoping he'll ease up on me 

"If you want to see him again make sure he gets that car fixed so this won't happen again and you should bring him over one day so we all can meet him" Paul said 

"Umm, he's kinda shy" I said not really wanting to bring him around especially since Joe here 

"Oh come on he's an actor, he's not shy. Bring him for dinner this week. Good night." Paul said and went to his room and I went to mine where Madi was sleeping I got into pajamas and got into bed with her.
