Chapter 16

Spending the weekend out of town with Alex and his friends was really fun. Plus, Alex and I bonded pretty well. Except for the fact that we had to leave a bit early on the last day because the boys had to get some work done. We're still not really a thing tho. Alex hasn't been in school for most of the week and even when he is, it seems like he's been busy studying in the library.. Or let me say 'pretends to be studying' in the library. I've tried callng him but it always goes to voicemail so I stopped... I don't wanna seem desperate or anything. I can't help but wonder if it's something I did. It hurts that he's avoiding me.

Wait... Is it because I told him I love him?

Oh shit! What if it is?

Ugh... I'm such an idiot!

Wait,but he said it back.

What if he said it just because... He didn't want me to feel bad?

Enough Britt! You're just overthinking things.

I groan as I realised I hadn't even gotten my books for my next class. As if on cue, the bell rung. Great! Now I'm gonna be late for class. I thought as I took my books out of my locker  slammed it shut and trn to make my way to class but instead froze in my steps. My breath hitched for a second. There he stood in all his glory. Dramatic much? My inner voice said sarcastically. He stared at me for a second before quickly diverting his eyes and entering the class.
I felt a pang in my chest, he just walked away like I wasn't even here. Brush it off Britt. I said to myself. I shook it off and walked into the same class he did. Yeah, we have AP Maths together right now. "Great another late student who must've had something to do that was more important than being on time for the most useful class ever." Our AP maths teacher stated dramatically, causing a few students to chuckle. "Dramatic much?" I grunted in a low tone, but from the glare Miss Arenay sent my way I think she heard it.

I smiled sheepishly at her. She forced a smile," Since you seem to have more important than being on time to my dramatic class, how about you join Alex at detention after class. " she said , with a hand on her hips and I stiffened for a second with a frown but nodded and walked to my seat way back in the class without saying a word. I normally sit in the middle of the class but in AP Maths I have a seat at the back. Why? Ion know either *shrug* .

The lesson continued but all I could think about was sitting in detention. With Alex. For two hours. *sigh*. I pray we aren't the only ones there. Miss Arenay's detention has to do with you solving equations she gives for two hours. I'm not that good at Maths, even if I'm in an honours class, it's still pretty difficult. Soon the classbis over and I leave before Alex does to avoid any more awkwardness. If he doesn't want to talk to me, that's fine by me. I don't want to make the situation any worse than it already is. I make my way to the cafeteria, when my phone vibrates in my pocket.

Britt,where are you? Won't you come for lunch? Have you seen the the new guy?

Britt 💞💅: Chill your tits girl , I'm on my way. And no, I haven't.

*thump*

I hit a hard surface and was about to fall when two strong arms caught me. I look up and damn! Isn't it like illegal for someone to look that gorgeous. He looks like a greek god. With his sharp jawline, large biceps that are literally bulging through his tight t shirt that he wore underneath his leather jacket. I imagined how sexy he woukd look lifting weights. His dark hair that looked like he just woke up from bed and sexily disheveled. I couldn't help but ogle at his beauty. His pretty blue eyes sparkled with mischief. There is no doubt he is a badass.

"Like what you see?" He said with a cocky yet sexy smirk on his face that snapped me out of my daze. A light blushed creeped up my cheek as I averted my  eyes and he chuckled and the sweet sound of it sent shivers down my spine. Wait what's wrong with me? I release myself from his hold and frown a little when I lost his touch. He smiled at me and it made my insides turn into mush. I smiled back, "Hey." He said with an even bigger smile.
