I run around the course forthe 10 th time. When I left the cafeteria I went to the school's field. It has a football feild in the middle , a basketball court at the extreem left and a tennis court to the extreem right. A running course is what is joining all three courses. After blowing off some steam I decided to lie down on the grass and just stare into the sky and thinking. Lately , it seems that Ive been thinking a lot.
Taking on Don Javier's offer comes with a lotbof responsibility... Blood Rose, just like any other gang uses businesses as a cover up for their operations. And with one as big as Blood Rose , they own many businesses. And those businesses are owned by the leader. Which means i have to over look all the operations of the gang . am I ready for such a responsibility?
"i knew I would find you here." A voice said, hovering over me. I didn't need to look before I know who is talking. She's the only person who knows I would come here when I'm really angry. I chuckled, "Of course, you did." I said and continued to lie down with my eyes closed and my hands behind my head. I felt her lie down beside me.
She lay there silently but I knew it wouldn't be long before she starts what I like to call her therapy session. "So .... Wanna tell me what's bugging you? I havent seen you this distraught and silent since Jasmine ." She said and i tensed up. Jasmine ... I wonder how you can hate someone who was once your love this much."What does this have to do with that bitch?" I sneered and she chuckled, totally nfazed by my death glare. "I haven't seen you into any girl this much since Jasmine.... Perhaps you're even into her more than you ever loved her." She countered.
She was right. I haven't felt anything this strong for any girl before. Even Jasmine. She sighs,"why are you fighting what you're feeling for her so hard Alex?" She asked. "We can't be together." I simply replied. "And why is that?" She countered. "Because we're from different worlds." I said with a shrug. She stayed quiet and I knew she wanted me to elaborate .
I let out a frustrated sigh, " She's a rich , spoilt brat who doesn't have to work a day of her life because she has a secure future. She get everything she wants without having to lift a finger. The most trouble she has gotten through am sure is exceeding her limit on her black card . As for me, you could say that I'm a trouble magnet, even you know that. I dont want her in my world because I don't want her in danger. Me just belonging to a gang is enough trouble for me alone. And now I might be going to lead one. I can't put her in harms way. She's way too important to me. Besides , I'm not sure I can give her the comforts of the life she's living. It seems like her new friend can give her that and more." i said in a breath. It felt good to let out all that was on my mind.
She stayed quiet for a while, probably processing what I just said and thinking of something to tell me. I know she doesn't need me to say more to know how much I really love Britt. After a moment of silence, she finally decided to speak. "Have you thought of telling her your thoughts?" She asked and I turned to look at her for the first time since we started this conversation with a look that said I 'Seriously?'
"Knowing you, I'm sure she knows youre part of the Latino Blood. She's met your friends. She hasn't ever judged you for who you are. And yet you're judging her. Even though I don't really know her even i know Brittany Andrews isn't a spoiled brat. Her father might own a chain of co operations but the reasons why she is adored by all is because Brittany is independent. She has her own business she started from scratch. She owns The Heartbeat clothing line. She's a successful enterpreneur and is very hard working and strong willed. And from the way you talk about her I can tell you see a future with her. So I suggest if you want to keep her you man up and get your act straight ." She said and got up from her spot on the lawn while I stare at her , speechless. I always wonder how she knows so much about everyone but I wont bother asking because she'll just tell me she just does.
I sighed, You want her so bad so why are you fighting it. My inner self seemed to be questioning me. I want to keep her safe . I told myself. I got up from the grass and grabbed my stuff and left the field. I took a quick shower in the boys locker room before heading out. I was still contemplating whether to go to class or skip, when I saw Britt come out of the washroom . The halls are empty and we're the only two here. We haven't been alone together in a while. She was at the fountain and she hasn't seen me yet. I walked up to her and wrapped my arms around her, pulled her to me and buried my nose in her hair, causing me to inhale her sweet addicting smell. I missed it so much.
She tensed at first at my actions ,but then she relaxed and leaned into my hold. "Dammy aren't you supposed to be in class?" She asked, still facing the fountain and I tensed. Dammy? Who the hell is Dammy? So she allows other guys to hold her like this apart from me? And she says she loves me? I slowly unwind my hand from her waist and take a step back. "Dammy huh? Is that your new boy toy?" I said and she spun around and looked surprised, "Alex I- " I cut her off ,"Save it." I said and walked away. Anger brewing beneath my calm facade. I think the real reason I stayed away from her is because what I feel for her is strong and I dont want her to hurt me... Like she just did. I thought to myself.
