Your mom let you spend the next few days home from school. You had told her your stomach was upset and she didn't really question it because you never asked to stay home. Your life had changed so drastically the month and a half, and you weren't sure how to handle the idea of it going back.
Blake has tried to text you a few times a day, but you've left them unopened. Noah calls you constantly and even tried showing up to the house a few times, but you let the calls go to voicemail and hid behind a locked door while he stood outside your house knocking. Every time he called, his contact photo popped up and you couldn't help but let it ring so you could stare at it and wonder where everything had gone so wrong and why the thought of feeling something for you was so appalling to him.
He had left you over a dozen voicemails and even though you refused to return them, you still played them over and over alone in the dark. Hearing his voice plead:
"Please call me back. I just need to hear that you're ok" broke your heart, but you couldn't stop listening."A few days later, Indiana and Dixie show up to surprise you with a sleepover. Your mom decides you need the company and let them in without asking. They walk in and see the state you're in and Indiana curls up next to you.
Dixie: "Please talk to us"
Indiana: "Is this all because Blake started seeing someone? He's a jerk, please don't let this drag you down"
Your phone starts to vibrate again and you look at Noah's face on the screen then pull the phone close to your chest and bury your face again as the call goes to voicemail
Dixie: "Did something happen with Noah?"
You: "Absolutely nothing will ever happen with Noah. He's made that pretty clear"
The girls suddenly understand and Dixie crawls in on the other side of you and they lay there with you the rest of the night in silence. The next morning, Indiana gets up and pulls your curtains open for the first time in a week
You: *grumbling still half asleep*
"What the hell are you doing?"Indiana: "It's time to get up. I know you're sad, but you can't just stay in bed forever. Eventually you have to get up and today is that day"
You: *covering your head with your pillow*
"Maybe tomorrow"Dixie: *pulling the pillow away and then the blankets*
"Nope today is the day"You start to cry and let all your feelings out and tell them everything you've been feeling until both girls finally understand how bad you're hurting and drag the blanket back onto the bed and lay back down with you and spend the whole day watching movies with you. There is a party the next night they tell you about, but neither tries to push the issue when you say you don't want to go.
