You’re nervously pacing still on edge even though your mom is acting fine, so you get dressed and go downstairs to ask if it’s ok that you go check on Indiana because she won’t answer any of your texts.
You knock on her door and at first there’s no answer. Just as you turn to walk away, Indiana answers laughing and distracted by something inside the apartment.
Indiana: “What are you doing here?”

You: “I’ve been trying to reach you for a few days”
Indiana: “I’m sorry I just mentally checked out for a while to deal with some stuff”
You: “Then who’s inside with you that you didn’t need a break from?”
Indiana: “No one is here… but hey. I got to go back inside, I’m… uh… working on catching up on some school work I missed but I promise I will text you more.”
You decide to pull up at Dixie’s house and she has Griff over but insists you aren’t interrupting anything.
You: *detailing what happened with Indiana* “She just like shut the door on me like she was in a hurry or something. She’s my best friend and never keeps secrets from me but it felt like something was going on”
Griff: “She probably just had someone over”

Dixie: “Yeah but who? Because Bryce and Addison are joined at the hip lately”
You: “it felt a lot like she just didn’t want me there but I don’t know what I did wrong?”
Griff: “It’s nothing you did I’m sure”
Dixie: “Do you know what’s going on with her?”

Griff: “I don’t know anything for sure, but I’m not getting in the middle of it”
Griff and Dixie invite you to go out to eat with them so you call Noah and ask if he wants to come too. You pick up Noah then head to the restaurant and you enjoy a cute double date. Noah and you are obviously a lot closer than last time the 4 of you hung out so when the guys go up to pay the bill, Dixie grills you about why.
You: “We haven't done THAT so don’t get any ideas”
Dixie: “But there’s been progress obviously”
You: “We are getting closer, let’s just say tha-”
You stop mid sentence spotting Indiana at a table across the restaurant and she’s not alone
You: “Hi guys”
Blake: “Hey what are you guys doing here?”

Dixie: “It’s date night for everyone apparently”
Indiana: “This is not a date… we’re just hanging out"
It was obviously a lie because Blake’s face looked sad when she said that, you just don’t understand why she is lying. You excuse yourself and walk outside and Dixie soon follows along with Griff and Noah.
You: “I just don’t understand… she always tells me everything”
Noah: “Maybe it’s because you dated Blake and she’s worried you’d be mad?”
Dixie: “So she lies about it? That’s not going to help what the hell”
You: “That’s bull because Indiana better than anyone knows that I never had strong feelings for Blake and have always been in love with Noah. She knows I wouldn’t care”
