The Things You Give

Part 6

Panic. Panic and bile rocketed up their throats; Their breaths caught in their throats. All Donna could do was stare at Hyde and Y/N with wide eyes, Hyde and Y/N mirroring the same expression, but it only lasted for a second though because Donna ran out of the room.          

       Donna was pacing behind the couch as Y/N and Hyde ran out of the room. Y/N had thrown on Hyde's robe and was clumsily tying the sash together, running out with Hyde as he had thrown on his jeans and quickly throwing on his T-shirt.         

  "Donna, wait, we can explain," Y/N said hurriedly and looked to Hyde who still looked like a deer caught in the headlights. "We were just...uh...hanging out."           

"What friends hang out in that position?!" she yelled, clearly not being able to process the image she just saw.           

      "Oh, God," Y/N said under breath, trying to control her breathing and not have a panic attack. "Wh-what are you even doing here? I thought you and Eric went to the concert?"           

      "I came here looking for your idiot brother because he ditched me," she explained, her voice wavering. "What were you even—when did this—how did this—WHY?!"          

       Y/N shushed her fervently. "Keep your voice down! I don't know who can walk down here any minute!"          

       "I can't—I can't even believe this! How could you guys commit this blasphemous, unholy, sin?!" Y/N's and Hyde's mouths ran dry as they tried to think of an answer. "Oh my God, I have to tell Eric." She hurried passed them to the door.           

      "NO!" Hyde and Y/N yelled in unison, stopping Donna in her tracks with her hand on the door handle.           

      "Donna, I am begging you. Please, please, please don't tell Eric," Y/N pleaded, stepping forward.           

       "What?" she asked surprised. "Why? Does anybody else know?"          

       "No, they don't," Y/N responded. "Just you. Please don't tell anybody else. If anyone finds out, especially Eric, it's going to blow up."          

       "No, if Red finds out, things are going to blow up," Hyde corrected her. "Literally."           

       Y/N gasped dramatically. "Red!"          

      "Man, I don't feel like wearing my ass as a hat," Hyde said, coming up being Y/N.  "Please, just...don't tell anybody okay? We're not ready to tell anybody yet."           

      "But it's you two!" she said, almost panicking. "I thought when Hyde and Jackie got together it was weird, but you?!" She pointed to Y/N. "I never thought this would happen. Ever. Hyde, you never looked at her more than a sister."          

"I know, I know," Y/N said gently and turned and wrapped her arms around his waist. "Believe me, we know. We didn't expect this to happen either, but this is why we didn't want anybody to know. We knew it would be worse than when he got with Jackie. I mean you saw how Kelso reacted. Imagine Eric's reaction. And he's a drama queen."           

    "That's true," Hyde said.          

     Donna studied them for a minute, taking her hand off the door. "Fine, I won't tell anyone. Not yet at least, but you guys have to promise that you will tell them!"           

     "Yes, absolutely," Y/N said, relieved. Hyde let out a sigh of relief.         

     "Can I ask you guys one question? Why?" Donna asked.
