Ch.6 "I'm a nightmare"

"You're right, but I want to" Hayes smiled causing an immense blush from me.

"Trust me, no you don't" I joked tearing myself down.

"You know, When I met you at the lake you were super confident. Where'd that Tess go?" He asked.

"She never existed" I replied gripping my backpack handles tighter.

"Why are you even talking to me? Don't you have a girlfriend. Will she freak knowing you're talking to another girl?" I brought up.

"Why not? I mran you're pretty cool. And yes I do but it's not like she doesn't talk to other guys. Let me know you" He protested.

"Hayes, I'm a nightmare. I'm doing you a favor" I laughed.

"Be my nightmare then" He said stopping in his tracks.

I gave him a Are-You-Sure-About-This? Look and watched him smile and stare at me.

I bit my bottom lip and shook my head agreeingly.

"Under one condition" I raised a brow.

"And whats that?" He asked laughing.

"You have to promise not to fall in love with me" I said seriously.

"For real?' His expression was suspicious.

I nodded and kept walking.

"Easy enough" He agreed.

Yes, Hayes was everything I wanted but he was in a committed relationship and I was in no way to ruin that. And after thinking about it, I dont think im ready for a serious relationship. I'm still in shock and im going through a lot, last thing I need right now is a boyfriend. I didnt mean to sound conceeded at all when I told him not to fall in love with me. I was being serious. Thats a dangerous move. Together we were fire and water, I was just no good for him. No matter my flame, big or small he just wasn't able to put me out. I don't think he would be able to understand my past, it is pretty dark and I did some pretty horrible things to myself. Not to mention we just met, I didn't want to open up to him when he was temporary, He might not be, but for right now he was.

"So? Friends?" He asked.

"You're so gay!" I laughed.

"Hey!" Hayes defended himself.

"Im just playing" I teased.

"Good. So does that mean youll hangout with me and my friends at school now?"

"It's not like I have anyone else to sit with" I told.

"Not yet" He smirked.

"Do you like no where I live or something? Cause we're walking in my direction to my house" He said curiously.

"HA no. This is where I live doofus" I laughed.

"Right here? I live like 5 houses down!" He cheered.

"No way?" I denied.

"Really!! You should come over for dinner:" He offered.

"Id like that" I smiled cheekily.

"Alright, so 6:30? My house?" He asked.

"I'll see you there" He winked leaving me at my doorstep.

I rolled my eyes and walked inside seeing that my mom wasn't home. I roamed the whole house till I found some sort of note, when I had finally found one on the kitchen counter.

"Tess, I had some stuff to do, I hope you had a wonderful day at school and cant wait to hear all about it! I should be home around nine tonight so go ahead and order pizza or something, I left my card on the counter. See you later! Love you xoxo Mom"
