4. Duets

"Okay everybody lets uh, gather around." Mr.Shue says as he walks into the choir room of noisy students. "sorry I'm late I was talking to Principal Figgins. Bad news guys puck went to juvie." He states grimly looking around at all of the confused faces in the room.

"It really was just a matter of time." Santana says out loud not as surprised as everyone else.

"Wh-What did he do?" Quinn asks Mr. Shue voicing the question all of them desperately wanted to ask.

"He drove him moms Volvo through the front of a convenience store and drove off with the ATM." Mr. Shue tells them all disappointedly gaining laughs all around the room from how stupid it was.

"Maybe it was for an almost good reason?" Naomi tries to reason not wanting to believe he did it just so he had money.

"Nay, there is no way there was a reason that he did it that isn't completely selfish." Santana tells Naomi gently, knowing that doing something bad in general would crush the poor girl.

"When is he getting out?" Rachel asks Mr. Shue ignoring the conversation between Santana and Naomi going on behind her.

"Unknown." Mr. Shue states confused at all the reactions.

"He is the dumbest person on this planet and that's coming from me." Brittany tells them all gaining a couple laughs and slight confusion from Naomi.

"Guys!" Mr. Shue says as he raises his voice to gain their attention. "please, let have some sympathy like Naomi." He says drawing the attention to Naomi who blushes at the attention and sheepishly waves to everyone.

"For a guy who put his needs before the team?" Finn asks incredulously before continuing his rant, "We need his voice and his bad boy stage presence!" Finn says as he finishes his rant with a couple angry hand gestures to really show what he means.

"We can't look at this as a crisis, it's-it's an opportunity-" Mr. Shue starts telling them all but is cut off by an angry Quinn.

"For what?" she demands. "Further embarrassment and humiliation?" Quinn concludes hopelessly.

"Maybe it's an opportunity to get better as a group?" Naomi offers up getting a comforting pat on the hand by Santana before everyone moves on from her and back to Mr. Shue.

Mr. Shue has a smile grow on his face as he announces "For welcoming our new member, Sam Evans!"

As Sam runs into the room and shakes Mr. Shue's hand Naomi is smiling wider than she ever has in excitement of seeing the guy she likes and is friends with run into the room. Naomi then springs up and runs to the front to hug him as tight and excited as possible. Sam picks her up swinging her back and forth as he too begins to grin wider.

Sam puts Naomi back on the floor after a second or two then looks out to the rest of the people there remembering where he is, "Hey everybody I'm Sam. Sam I am, and I don't like green eggs and ham." he tells the group evoking a round of giggles to erupt from Naomi at what she believes was the best introduction he possible could have given, thus making him smile even wider if possible.

"Oh wow, he has no game." Santana says before motioning Naomi back over to her with her hand saying "Naomi, sweetie come here." Naomi grabs Sams hand and drags him up to the seat next to her so she can sit by him and Tana.

"Okay this is great!" Finn exclaims as he turns to look back at Sam. "Your not gonna regret joining man." He tells him as he exchanges an excited grin that his hard recruiting work paid off. Or at least Finn thinks it did, Sam really only joined because when he saw the cut on Naomi's head this morning from the cheer prank he came to the conclusion that he'd rather be a loser with her, try to protect her, and take some of the wrath too rather than have her take all the heat.
