I finished my shower in a huff. I shoved on my clothing and began to brush my teeth. Once finished, I left the bathroom. My black long sleeved shirt hugged my body while my jeans hung lose. My black hair wasn’t greasy at all since I just showered. I ran my hands through it quickly as I entered the living room with ease. A wave of the fresh new coat of paint filled my nose, creating a sensation that I longed for. I haven’t painted anything this magnificent in such a long time. The painting isn’t all that great. You can tell the huge mistakes, like the clouds are really puffy, but it’s something. I grabbed my phone with a smile and exited the house after locking the door. I can't wait until Bert sees my mural.

I walked out of the building and waited onto the side, more towards the parking lot. I flipped open my phone, then closed it again. I repeated that several times and tapped my foot along to the rhythm my phone was creating. Minutes passed, then ten minutes. I sighed and looked at the cell phone clock. Okay, maybe ten minutes really didn’t pass. I need to improve my patience.  Eventually, I saw the van pull up. The van hit the curb and stopped.  The passenger side of the car was opened for the taking and I hopped into the van. I flashed a quick smile at Bert and he returned it. He shoved his foot down on the gas pedal and we flew away from the parking lot of the building and into the streets of New Jersey.

Once we started to approach the club, the traffic started slowing down and backing up. The longer time passed, the more traffic there was. I sighed, hating traffic. Bert was on the same boat there. He hates traffic just as much as I do. We watched as cars sped by on the opposite side, going towards the other direction. The stop light changed from red to green and we still weren’t able to move forward. Gotta love the Garden State. Finally, we pulled up to the front of the club. Bert was the first to leave the van and I followed his actions. We walked hand in hand into the club. Some band was playing at the open mike. They played some song covers, mainly Megadeth. Of course I knew that one of course. I was surprised that this band was able to hit some of the notes pretty good. My eyes wondered around in the crowd. Girls glared at the stage, blankly listening to the music and other girls were head banging along to the song. But there was somebody in the corner of my eye that caught my attention completely.  A boy in the corner of the club stood hunched over, clearly having bad posture. Dirty clothes hung very loosely around the boy and a rundown guitar case leaned against him. He had to be about five foot tall. He’s too tall to be considered four feet tall but definitely too short to be considered over 5’5. He’s definitely small compared to myself and Bert. He bit his lip, playing with his lip ring. He was clearly waiting for his turn on the stage.

"That's him over there." Bert whispered in my ear pointing to the boy. Ah, so that's Bert’s friend. The fragile boy noticed Bert and waved his frail arm at him. Bert waved back and clenched his hand over my own, dragging me towards him.

"Hey Frank! This is my boyfriend Gerard." Bert smiled and introduced me to the boy.

"Hi." He said with a shaky New Jersey accent. He extended a gloved hand towards me and smiled weakly. I accepted and returned the words ‘Hi’.

"So what are you playing tonight?" Bert asked with a smile.

"Just some things I wrote. The song that you help me song correctly." He replied and used his free arm to grip his sleeved arm in a nervous frenzy.

“Ah, so you practiced singing it?” Bert questioned the weak boy.

“Ya.” He responded, gnawing at his nails.

"Awesome! Wanna meet up with me and Gerard after you're finished?" Bert offered and looked at me for approval.

"We can go over my place if you guys want." I added to Bert's offer. I want to know more about this Frank character.
