Chapter One

This is it na talaga. Graduate na ako. And few moments later the emcee called me na. It feels like there's some butterfly on my stomach. It's aching. I'm nervous. I stood up and march on the stage. And that time the crowd waiting for my speech.

" Good Evening Ladies And Gentlemen!" Panimula ko and then humarap ako sa mga visitors. " Good Evening to our special guest tonight" I paused. Napabuntong-hininga ako dahil sa kaba pa rin. Pero nandito na nato. Nakamit ko na yung pangarap na gusto. Eto yung matagal ko nang hinihintay sa loob ng mahabang panahon.

" Tonight is a very special for one of us. This is the day that all of us wanted to reach. The day that we dream of. The day that give lights to us!" I paused again.

" It's been 18 years of studying. 18 years of having fun with one of our friends. 18 years of different experiences when it comes to academic. And 18 years of pressure to end with this title!" Everyone's laugh when they heard pressure.

" I remember the day when I first entered in school of elementary, I'm scared. To my classmates and to my teachers. Until now, not in my classmates but in my professors. I'm afraid that I might do wrong and it'll be the reason to be failed, but no, they just give you a stare and they always says " walang maling sagot, it's based on your opinion!" And " sasagot ka lang naman eh! Hindi naman kita kakainin kapag pumunta ka dito sa pisara!" And everyone's laugh out loud. Someone holding their stomach when I imitate those words of my teachers back then.

" Yeah those memories is one of the best memories that I can share to the all of you. Until I reached junior highschool. Everything was still the same, but with changes. We're teenagers that time and having hard time to academics but we can handle it. And to those unavoidable crushes. Right guys?" My blockmates laugh. And also the crowd. They laugh as if there's no tomorrow.

" And until I reached senior highschool, there's pressure and school papers to do. More studies and less "barkadas". It's a big change to all of us. We can't say the words " Tara Gala!" anymore, but we use " Tara! Research!" To have bond together!" Biglang tumahimik na yung crowd. Parang inaantay pa nila yung idudugtong ko.

" And here comes the college year. Everything turns different. We need to become serious. Specially to Med. Students and to engineers. But I'm not saying that other courses are not difficult to accomplish. I'm saying that courses must take it serious, of course all of its should take it serious and it's difficult but the two courses that I mentioned earlier need to be doubled. The seriousness, focus, a skills, and wisdom. That's what we are. That's what engineers do. Imagine, a happy go lucky students turns into a serious one. Well, that's part of maturity. Too much responsibility "

Yung iba kong blockmates naiyak na. Siguro naalala nila yung mga hirap na pinagdaanan namin. Yung mga bagay na pinag aawayan namin tapos mauuwi sa libre. Yung mga bagay na hindi namin malilimutan.

" I remember the day when my mom said ' Ok lang ang maka-graduate na walang honors o hindi ang maging isang cum laude kung magkaka-ganyan ka! Tingnan mo ang sarili mo! Para ka nang buhay na bangkay! Parang Zombie ba!'
" The crowd laugh again while my blockmates, they're crying while laughing. Parang mga baliw sila. Ung iyak nila kanina tas tatawa naman ngayon. Well, I didn't do any speech before. Impromptu to. Buti pinayagan ako.

' lels joke lang! Bawal kaya impromptu!'

At Buti, kahit papaano napapatawa ko pa rin sila gaya nang pag papasaya nila sa akin.

" And when she said that, I realized one more thing, that I don't have time for my family. That's why my routine before were continue again. Those are Studies time and Family Bonding. My rest are when I'm with my family. They gaves more laughter in my life. They're my happiness. They're my life. And this Achievement is for my family. " Hinubad ko ang medal ko.

" I wish this leash are wider that will fits to the all of you, or I hope I can wish to have more medals to give you one by one Nanay!" Sabi ko habang nakataas ang kamay at iwinawagayway.

Hindi ko alam pero maski ang mga special guest ay umiyak na rin. Siguro nadadala na ng scenario.

" Nay, Tay, para po sa inyo to! Dapat po kasi dalawa to eh! Para tig-isa kayo!" At tumawa na naman sila. Maski ang mga professor tumawa na din.

Habang naiisip ko lahat ng dinanas ko makarating lang dito, hindi ko maiwasang umiyak at tumawa naman dahil napasaya ko silang dalawa na pinaka mahalaga sa buhay ko, syempre pati ang tatlo ko pang kapatid.

" and this is not the end of my journey for our family Inay at Itay! This is just the beginning for the all of us!" Sabi ko sa kanila habang nakatingin. Habang patuloy ang pag patak ng luha sa aking mata

May mga mangilangilan na ding sumasabay sa pag iyak ko. Kasama na ang mga blockmates ko na kapareho ng dinanas ko. At ang crowd na naiimagine na siguro ang mga nakaraan naming lahat ng students. Ang bawat students na nagkakaroon ng hirap na dinadanas sa tuwing mag kakaroon ng Gawain sa school.

" And everyone before I end up this speech I have something to tell you, don't ignore studies instead enjoy it. Don't get mad to those teachers and professor, instead of give respect to their decision. Do your works immediately before turn to failed one. Those 3 sentences that I want to say to those students nowadays. I want them to have a disciplines that I got from my family and teachers or professors. And to those parents kindly divided your time to work and to your children, because most of the students of this time are rebelled."

Nag si pag-ayunan naman ang mga crowd sa akin. Ano ba to parang simpleng tips lang ea. Pero umiyak sila. Siguro naiisip nila kung bakit ganoon ang anak nila ay dahil din sa kanila.

" Everyone , I , Ashley Jade Laluna! Got the highest honor in Bachelor Of Science In Computer Engineering, saying thank you to all of you who's witness the success of each students tonight.!" I paused and look at to my blockmates and batch mates.

" Congratulations Everyone!! This is it! It's the new beginning to all of us!"

Bumaba na ako at naki-join sa kanila. Bumilang sila ng hanggang tatlo at sabay-sabay namin hinagis ang mga nakapatong sa ulo namin. While shouting ' Congratulations!'

Nang maka graduate umuwi na agad ang mga magulang ko sa bahay namin sa probinsya. Nag pasya naman akong humanap ng trabaho. Kasama ang friends ko.

Agad naman na silang nag-ayos ng mga papeles para sa aaplyan. Malakas ang trip nila kasi gusto nilang i-try ang iba't ibang kompanya samantalang ako naman ay gustong mag stick sa isa.

Binalita ko sa aking mga magulang at tuwang-tuwa sila nang malaman. Nasa probinsya na sila ngayon at nag pa celebrate sila doon para sa kanila at para maibalita sa mga kababaryo namin na magkakaroon na ako ng chance makapagtrabaho.

Tumingin ako sa mga kaibigan ko na nag kagulo at nag iyakan pa. Ito yung naging resulta nang pakikipag-patayan namin sa pag-aaral. Napabuntong-hininga na lang ako at sinimulan ng mag plano muli para sa makapag apply.

This is the new beginning for the four of us..........
