We started splashing each other with the water. When I wasn't looking, a huge splash of water got in my face.
"Hey!" I said squinting my eyes at Emilio. "That's not fair, you cheater!"
"Come and catch me then" Emilio said as he ran. I ran after him, our screams got mixed up with our laughter. I jumped on his back and we tumbled down on the ground, me on top of him.
I was laughing and the wind blew some strands of my hair in my face and Emilio tucked my hair behind my ear. I stare in eyes, getting hypnotized by them.
I broke the awkward moment. "Uh...uh we should be leaving" I said as I got off of him.
"Uh yeah sure." He said as he got up. We got in the car, and sat in awkward silence. Emilio drops me off at Ella's house.
"I'll see you tomorrow, baby sis" Emilio said as he winked at me. I chuckled softly.
"Okay." I waved to him and he drove away.
"Ella?"
"Sorry Lori, Ella's not here right now." Her mother said, hugging me.
I hugged her back. "Where is she?"
"She's at Josh's house for a study session."
"Oh okay" I said as I headed up the stairs.
"Hey Lori!" Stan, Ella's little brother, said as he ran up and hugged me.
"Hey Stan!" I said as I wrapped my arms around him and gave him a big hug. He giggled.
"Can we play uno?" He said with pleading eyes.
"Sure. Go grab the uno deck."
