Mission 9: Stop the selling of illegal drugs

Jonah:

Almost as soon as Jonah walked into the Clave agency, Simon approached him.

"Hey, I was looking for you, where you been? We have a mission today." Simon said.

"Oh, I didn't know I was on mission today, I'm sorry." Jonah apologized. "What's the mission?"

"Me and you are going to a fancy Downworld restaurant to take down this guy." Simon pulls up a picture of him on his phone. "He goes by Rufus, he's been selling illegal Seelie drugs, and he's meeting one of his contacts at the restaurant to sell it. We can't arrest him until we catch him in the act of selling, so I'm going to pretend to be interested in buying from him and catch him dealing."

Jonah nodded. "Not to be rude, but, why'd they choose me and you for this mission?"

"The guy wouldn't be silly enough to sell drugs to a Shadowhunter." Simon explained. "As far as he knows, I'm a vampire, and you're just some random guy."

"Alright, well, this all sounds pretty good to me. When are we leaving?"

Simon checks the time on his phone. "Actually, we need to be leaving now. Do you have all your gear?"

"Yeah, I'm good."

"Come on, then." Simon began walking out the door, leading the way. Jonah found himself struggling to keep up with Simon, and he didn't seem to be speed walking. After a while, Simon looked over at Jonah and slowed his pace. "I'm sorry, am I walking too fast? I've been having that problem recently."

"What do you mean, recently?" Jonah asked.

"You dropped your pocket."

Jonah looked down at the ground for a moment before realizing what Simon said. He looked at Simon, who immediately began to laugh. "One of the vamps taught me that." He said.

Jonah decided to pretend he didn't notice Simon's attempt to change the subject. "Are we almost there?" Jonah asked Simon, looking at the buildings they passed.

"We are, actually. It's just up ahead." Simon pointed to a posh restaurant not too far away. When Jonah got closer, he saw the words Bone Chandelier at the front of the building.

"Why's it called that?"

"You'll see once we get in." Simon opened the door and went straight to the host. "Table for two," he said.

"Do you have a reservation?" The host asked.

"No."

"Sorry, you can't get a table without a reservation." The host said, looking unapologetic.

Jonah pulled Simon to the side and whispered to him. "Why didn't you reserve a table?"

"I've got this." Simon said. He went back to the host and whispered in his ear.

The host nodded and said, "Table for two, right this way please." He forced a smile and began walking to our spot.

"What did you say to him?" Jonah asked.

"I just told him who I was, that's all."

Jonah looked at him, still confused.

"I told him I was Raphael's boyfriend, and suggested that he should get us a table."

"You threatened him?"

"No, I just told him that Raphael was my boyfriend, and that if he didn't get us a table, he would be angry."
