I do my best to struggle against Colton but he just laughs. He pins my arms and legs down, leaving me immobile. He starts to lean down, ready to take my lips.

Just as he was about to kiss me, the bedroom door slams open. Both Colton and I look at who entered. To my relief, it's the guy from the alleyway.

Colton clicks his tongue and gets off of me.

"Jaxon, what are you doing here?"

So that's his name, Jaxon. Has a nice ring to it.

"Helping out a friend and making sure you get put away," Jaxon says.

Colton laughs, "Like your little Jade Vipers could hurt my Wolves."

Colton snaps his fingers but nothing happens. Colton looks worried as he snaps his fingers a few more times, still nothing.

"I already took care of most of your guards, Colton. All you have to do is give me Luca, then you can be free."

Colton looks at me then back at Jaxon, who never took his eyes off of me. My face flushed a bit and I looked down.

Colton clicked his tongue and the next thing I knew, I had an arm wrapped around my chest and a gun to my head. My heart was going so fast I thought it would pound right out of my chest.

"Hey, Luca," Jaxon called out.

I looked at him, "Yeah?"

He smiles, "You trust me, right?"

My cheeks heat up, not expecting him to smile at me.

I nod, "Yeah, I do trust you."

"Close your eyes."

I do as he says. I hear gunshots go off and Colton's arm lets go of me. I opened my eyes and heard Colton groaning and cursing. I wanted to look back and see what happened but Jaxon stopped me.

"We don't have time for this. Come on, your sister is waiting."

He takes my hand and leads me out of the bedroom. His grip is tough but not tight, warm and caring. As I look at Jaxon, he has multiple cuts and bruises on his face and arms.

"How did you know I was here?" I ask.

He pulls me into his chest as we hide behind a corner and puts a finger to his lip, hushing me. A few men race past us. We head the opposite way they went.

"Your sister called and asked me to save you."

"You know my sister?"

He nods, "I do. I'll let her explain once we get out of here."

We take a few lefts and multiple rights. How the hell did he know where he was going? I looked up and noticed something in his ear, it was an earpiece. That's how he knew where he was going, someone was telling him how to get out.

Just as we were about to make it out the front door, multiple men with guns blocked our way out.

"Your shooting skills need some work, Jaxon. I thought grandfather taught you better?" Colton says while wobbling down the stairs.

"You shot him in the leg? Hell, I thought you shot him somewhere else." I whisper.

Jaxon ignores me and speaks to Colton.

"I'm a way better shot than you, always was."

"You were grandfather's favorite. He expected so much from you, but you left. Why?" Colton asks.

"I never agreed with his way of doing things."

"Well, it doesn't matter. Once you're gone, I'll be the only one left on the will. Everything will be mine, just like it always should have been."
