I sit up and touch his face, "Is it really you Jax? I'm not dreaming?"

He puts his hand over mine and smiles, "It's really me Luca. You--"

Before he can continue, I pull him in and kiss him. He had been bandaged and must have been in pain but I didn't focus on that. He was alive and here, that's all that mattered.

After we part, he laughs.

"You were really worried, huh?"

I wipe away my tears, "of course I was. I thought you died, what happened?"

"I found you just in time," A voice says.

"Mr. King," I say.

"I saw your flare and rushed over as fast as I could. I ran into a few men Colton turned and almost died if it hadn't been for Elijah. Once he saved me, we came to see Colton pointing a gun at Jaxon. When you screamed Jaxon's nickname, I shot Colton." He explains.

"You passed out as soon as you heard the shot, assuming I was dead." Jaxon says.

"How long was I out?" I ask.

"A day. Jaxon never left your side, not even to get fixed up. I had to do it here since he wouldn't leave."

Elijah says as he walks over with a tray of food. He set it in front of me and I looked at him.

"You haven't eaten since you arrived here so I assumed you'd be hungry. I am really sorry this happened Luca, I didn't know."

I smile and eat, "It's okay Eli. I don't blame you for anything."

After I finished eating, Mr. King explained what would be happening next. Most of the men who changed sides will end up in jail, my idea since I didn't want them to be killed. Jaxon and I would spend a few days healing before going back to the apartment. After we are all healed up and back at the apartment, we would invite everyone over. Mom, Lizzy, Charlie and Riley.

I was worried about mom and Lizzy because of what happened with dad but Jaxon reassured me everything was fine. Before the whole kidnapping thing happened, he made sure to have them moved.

It's been four days since the whole incident happened. Today was the day everyone is coming over for a visit. It took awhile for everyone to arrive but when they did, I was bombarded with questions. I started out from the very beginning, telling the whole truth. How I knew I was adopted, who I really am related to, why I had to move in with Jaxon and how I got all my bruises and cuts.

Riley and Charlie were surprised and mother and Lizzy were shocked. I finally felt light again once I told everyone the truth. It really doesn't feel nice having to lie to my loved ones.

We all spent some time together before everyone left for the night. Mom allowed me to stay with Jax for as long as I wanted, basically she liked him very much. She even told me that she would love to have him as a son-in-law one day, to which I became a tomato at.

She also told me how she was divorcing dad because of how he acted. It's been going on for a while and she finally got a judge to sign off on it. Luca is finally free from everything, now there's only one thing left to do.

"You wanna meet him, don't you?" Jax asked.

"I do, he is my father after all," I say.

"He also deserves to know his only family member is alive." Mr. King says.

We all agreed that we would go see my grandfather, Thomas. That night, however, I couldn't sleep. I got out of bed and went to stand on my balcony. While looking at the stars, I felt a warm embrace. It was Jax.

"Can't sleep?" He asks.

"What if he doesn't want me? There are so many things I'm worried about."

Jaxon put his chin on my shoulder and left soft kisses on my neck. Not gonna lie, I got goosebumps all over and a shiver ran down my back.

"You shouldn't have to worry about anything, I'll be right with you. And if doesn't want you, it's his loss. You are like the sun and moon, always shining and impossible to look away from. And you have your mom and sister. You will never be alone." He says.

I turn around and hug him, "thank you Jax."

He kisses the top of my head, "anytime."

The next day, Mr. King and I head to the Mayor's office. He made an appointment to speak with the Mayor a few weeks back, since he knew that I might want to speak to him.

As I sit outside, I can kind of hear what the two men are talking about. Mr. King starts out by apologizing for what happened that night, only to be cut off by Mr. Dawson. They speak until Mr. King says he has someone he wants Mr. Dawson to meet, meaning me.

I get up as the door opens. I walk inside and Mr. Dawson's eyes widen.

"What is going on here, Oliver?"

"That night, not everyone in your family died. It wasn't only until a few years later did I know your grandson was alive." Mr. King says.

I wave, "Hi."

Mr. Dawson comes over to me. He has a smile on his face and tears in his eyes.

"You look so much like them both. You have your mother's hair but your father's eyes and freckles."

"I saw a picture of them, thanks to Mr. King. I wish I knew them but maybe you could tell me about them."

He nods, "of course."

"But you might not like me," I say.

"What makes you think that?" He asks.

"I'm gay and in love with Jaxon King, Mr. King's grandson."

He shakes his head and hugs me, "I don't care."

I hug him back. The three of us head back to the apartment. Jaxon was making food for the four of us to eat.

We talked about my life. How I grew up, how I knew I was gay, how I met Jaxon and how I entered his protective custody. It was a night full of laughter and tears.

We talked about how he wanted to meet the family who raised me and give them their thanks, so that's what we did the next week. The two of us went over to Lizzy's place.

Mom moved in with her after things with the divorced went her way. When mom and my grandfather met, he expressed his gratitude. Things were going great and I could never ask for anything more.

Every holiday that came, mom would invite grandfather over as well as Jaxon. My family might not be complete but it's everything I want and need. And all of this was possible because I saw that cop being killed.

If Jaxon never protected me, I would have never come out or found my family. I guess you could say someone who cared for me protected me. But I call it Loves Protection.
