Uma: Why do you hate your dad?

Uma: Because he's a glorified seahorse.

Audrey: He's a merman.

Uma: It's the same thing.

Mal: I know why you hate him, but are you going to tell everyone else?

Jane: You don't have to if you don't wanna, but we want to know...

Evie: And this is a safe space to talk about your problems.

Uma: Hmph. More like a safe space to spill the tea.

Audrey: Either way. But are you going to tell us?

Uma: I hate him because he was one of the main proponents of locking up the Isle folks, but also because after he had a kid, he refused to claim her or even act responsible for her. Instead, he claims that his youngest daughter is a beautiful, perfect mer-kid that has that stupid red and flowy hair and that stupid pretty singing voice and that stupid beautiful colorful tail. And he leaves the true youngest to fend for herself. To try to thrive in a world that doesn't smile upon those who aren't ruthless, selfish, and murderous.

Uma: So, yeah. I pretty much hate him.

Audrey: I hate him, too, if it makes you feel any better.

Uma: *furrows brow as she looks at Uma*

Audrey: *shrugs* Anyone who would do that to someone deserves to be hated. Especially anyone who would hurt you like that.

Uma: *smiles just barely*
