Hello, sweeties! <3
I just wanted to say that English isn't my first language, so I'm sorry for all the mistakes. I thought it would be fun to write a story in English. Besides that, the Identity V fanbase in my country is not this wide.
If anyone ever reads this story, I hope you enjoy it :)

It was cold outside. So cold that your body was trembling. There were three ciphers remaining and you hadn't even met the hunter or your teammates. While fighting the chills that went down your spine, you were trying to decode as fast as you could. Suddenly, your heart beats became faster and stronger, fear taking over. You looked around and saw Joseph Desaulnier, the french gentleman dressed in fancy clothes. After thinking for a few seconds you figured that he must had decided to go friendly since none of your friends had been hurt during the game.
"Don't panic. I come in peace, ma chérie." The hunter smiled, putting his hands up to sign that he wasn't going to hurt you. "Your teammates are worried about you. They couldn't meet you so I thought I should check up on you."
"Thank you, I guess..." You muttered, trying to focus on the decoding.
"Why would they give you this dress to use on this map?" He asked. "Are you cold?"
"Not at all." You lied, not wanting to worry anyone.
"You are a bad liar." What he stated made you fail one calibration. You took a deep breath to calm yourself down and looked at the man. "Here, take this." Joseph took off his coat and put it around your body.
"You don't need to–"
"You are trembling, (Y/N)." He patted your head. "I know that we aren't the greatest friends, but I would never let you die from hypothermia."
"Thank you, sir." You bowed down to him, not knowing what to do in this kind of situation.
"You don't need to be so formal." He laughed. "Can I just stay here and get to know you?" The hunter asked, leaning on the wall.
"Yeah, sure." You were feeling nervous about being this close to the charming man. Even if your body wasn't cold anymore, your hands were shaking.
"How long have you been here?"
"Almost one month."
"Why are you here?" The question made you stop. "It's okay if you don't want to answer." He said when he realized you looked uncomfortable.
"The letter was... kind of rescue for me. I used to have a difficult life out there. When I was thirteen my father left with my brother. We never saw them again. After my 19th birthday, my mother died from a rare disease." You began, trying your best to hold back the tears. "My father is a horrible man. He only loved his son and treated me and my mom like trash. When he left, he spread bad rumors about us. None of them were true, but everybody believed him." As you were telling him the story, you felt tears running down your cheeks. "I'm sorry." You cried, hiding your face with your hands.
"It's okay." His gentle voice seemed to calm you down a bit. "You can... cry on my shoulder if you want to." He suggested. Without thinking twice, you hugged him.
"When my mom died, I was completely lonely. She was my only family, my only friend, my everything. And if the sadness wasn't enough, new rumors appeared, new rumors appeared. They said that I was the one who killed her." You were sobbing at that point. "It was hard to survive after that. I didn't have friends, I didn't have a job, I had already accepted my death. Then the letter came and I came to the manor."
