When you and your group of friends decided to go camping, you thought it would be just a fun time with the people you loved but it somehow became a big mess.
It was 5 AM and you were practically dragging yourself to the car. Your fiance, Jack, was organizing the baggage on the back of your car while Eli and Patricia laughed at something, focusing on their cellphones.

"Can you get in the car, please?" Jack asked, sounding annoyed.

To tell the truth, you weren't just tired because it was too early in the morning. The other reason for your exhaustion was a sleepless night, caused by no other than your beloved fiance. It was because of a fight you had and resulted in you staying up to cry. You two had an argument because he kept flirting with random girls in a restaurant, ruining your Valentine's Day date. When you went back home, he noticed that you were too quiet and asked what was going on. After you answered with your true feelings, he laughed at you and said you were being stupid and crazy, that he was not flirting with anyone. He made you feel bad about yourself for even thinking of that situation. And as he always did after a fight, he got out and only came back one hour before the trip. He left you alone, sad, crying.

"Are you okay, (Y/N)? Your eyes look swollen." Eli asked.

"Just… insomnia." You lied.

You slept the entire ride. Eli had to wake you up when you got to the place.

"What happened this time?" The male questioned while you were still sitting in the car. "Did you guys fight again?"

"Kind of." You were worried that you would upset Jack if he knew you told something like this to your friend.

"You can tell me anything, you know?"

"Everything is okay, Eli, I promise." You forced a smile for him. Clark was still suspicious but didn't want to pressure you.

Even if you didn't talk about these kinds of problems with him, he knew when something was going on and, as your friend, it hurt for him. Seeing you so sad, so quiet and so submissive to the man that he hated and treated you so bad was killing him inside. He tried to talk to you sometimes, but you would change the topic or defend Jack, so it wasn't worth it.
Eli observed you (not in a creepy way) while you tried to help Jack build up your tend. It was difficult for you because you had never done that, however, you were trying really hard to be helpful and make up.

"How can you be so useless?" Jack wasn't supposed to say that out loud, but he did. Even though he didn't mean for you to hear, he didn't bother apologizing.

Your heart sank, you felt embarrassed. Your soon-to-be-husband humiliated you right in front of your friends, but you had nowhere to run or hide. So you stood there, took a deep breath, and accepted it, as you always did. Although you decided to do something else, you went to help Eli with the baggage.

"How have you been doing? We haven't talked in months." He affirmed.

"Good. Jack and I already set the date for the wedding, so I'm really excited." You said happily, but something seemed odd about your feelings.

"Will you actually marry this jerk?" He shot without thinking about what he was saying.

"Don't call him that. I know that you don't like him, but deep down he is a great person."

"Deep down? You mean very very very deep down." He made you laugh with the statement. "You see? Even you agree with this!" He tried to sound calm, even though he was fuming.
