"… (Y/N)." You heard a soft voice calling for you while you were packing up. You looked around and found Victor Grantz approaching you.
"Oh, hi!" You waved at him, closing your backpack's zipper.
Victor was your friend. You weren't close enough to be best friends, but he was a good, cute boy that sometimes had pleasant conversations with you and helped you with your homework.
"C-Can I talk to you for a bit?" He shyly asked.
"Of course. Take a seat." You pointed at your chair as you sat on the table. "Is it serious? You look nervous."
"… I wanted to ask… your help for something…" He fidgeted with his fingers, keeping his head down. "Just don't tell anyone, please."
"You can trust me." You patted his head and his gaze finally found your face.
"You know that… I don't have any experience with… girls." His face was so red it almost looked like a tomato. "A-And… there's someone that I… have a crush on, but I have no idea on what to do about that." He mumbled and you tapped your chin, processing all the information.
"Can I know who the special one is?"
"It's… It's… Charlotte." He confessed with a long sight. Oh, poor him. You didn't want to let him down, but you knew Charlotte was a cold person and that it was hard to approach her. However, you wanted to trust that his smile would melt her cold stone heart.
"Alright, I will help you. I like challenges." You smiled, putting your hand in front of him. He reached out and shook it.
And that was how it all started. Victor was your friend and so was Charlotte, and you would be more than happy to get them together. They were total opposites, but opposites attract, right? Well, Victor was already attracted to her, but what about Charlotte?
After making the deal, you and Victor decided to meet up after school at a nearby cafeteria where you would give him advice on how to be more confident and what you knew Charlotte liked. Although you were doing it only for the sake of helping your friend, Victor insisted to pay you back with something: hot chocolate. It was a good agreement, after all.
Besides that, you tried to indirectly ask Charlotte about dating stuff and what were her opinions about it."Can you tell me… how Liam asked you out for the first time?" Victor suggested during one of your meetings.
"I don't think you should take his example. He just came up to me and said 'Hey, cutie, go out with me on a date'." You tried to mimic his deep voice, making Victor laugh. "And I went. I was into him and kind of desperate, but don't that to Charlotte. You have to show her that you care about her."
"Did Liam show he cared about you?"
Did he? You became silent for a moment, trying to remember the first days and everything he did.
"S-Sorry, that's none of my business-"
"No, it's okay." You smiled at him. "You know, we have been dating for five months now, and I don't even know how we ended up together. I don't like to think about it too much because I always end up questioning if we were meant to be. I don't know." You sighed.
"Do you… love him?" He reluctantly made the question.
"I don't know." It was the only response you could give him. Your entire relationship was a doubt. "Sometimes I think I am with him because I am afraid of being lonely, and he's with me… I don't know why he's with me."
"… (Y/N)." He wasn't looking at you. You followed his gaze only to find Liam entering the cafe.
"What's he doing here?" You looked back at Victor, pretending that you didn't see him.
