After all those years, did you still had feelings for him? When you were young it was just a crush, but you grew fond of him after you met again. However, you couldn't tell if he liked you or not.
You spent months trying to figure it out until something got your attention.

You went to the cemetery during his lunch break with a bag of food. You realized that he didn't eat properly, so you decided to help him with that.
While you walked to the usual tree and spotted him talking to a woman. You had seen her there before, but she never really got your attention. She was gorgeous and clearly had a thing for him, which you didn't realize until then. The way she played with her hair and touched his arm, it was obvious. He blushed and frequently looked away while she talked. Then you realized. The signs you thought he gave that he felt something towards you didn't mean that. He did that with her too.
You stood there, observing them. It could come out as creepy, but you just couldn't get your eyes off of them, even though it hurt.
When she started walking away, you thought you should do the same.

"(Y/N)!" His voice interrupted you.

"A-Andrew!" You tried to hide your disappointment with a fake smile. "I brought you this." You handed him the bag. "I have to go. Bye." You waved at him and started walking, ignoring him asking for you to wait.

You were jealous, and you wouldn't be able to hide it if you stood there. You went back to work, but you couldn't concentrate on anything.

"Are you okay?" One of your co-workers questioned, putting a hand on your forehead to check if you had a fever. "You never mistake things like that."

"I just have a lot in my mind." You sighed.

"Gertrude and I are going out to have some drinks after work. What about tagging along?" As he said that his girlfriend appeared.

"It will be fun!" She clapped.

"I don't want to be a third wheel, you know." You ran your hand through your hair.

"You know that when we hang out together, I am the third wheel." Eli laughed. He was kind of right. You and Gertrude were close too, and she always enjoyed hanging out with you.

"Alright." You gave up.

That night you decided that you were going to drown all your sorrows and worries. You were going to have fun and forget about Andrew and that girl for a moment.
You put on your favorite dress and high heels, did your best makeup, and did your hair the best way to look completely stunning. You felt good about yourself and no romantic feelings and jealousy were going to ruin that.

"(Y/N)." Gertrude had a serious expression on her face, which worried you. A lot. "You. Look. Fantastic." She said, her mouth agape.

"Don't flatter me, Gertrude!" You hid your smile with your hand.

"I'm serious. Dead serious." She held your hand and dragged you inside. "See. All eyes on you!" She whispered into your ear. She was right. Everyone was looking at you. You felt your cheeks getting hotter and hotter as you walked to where Eli was, waiting for both of you.

You drank a lot. You danced a lot. You had a lot of fun. It was perfect, except that Gertrude had to curse at least three men that tried to take advantage of you while you weren't paying attention.

"I'm fine!" You said, staggering around while Gertrude tried to get you.

"You are not. You drank too much. Let me help you, please." She gave you her pleading look and you just couldn't resist that. You hugged her and started crying.
