"I'm serious," I said as she stayed silent.

"Ayoko," she suddenly stood up and faced me. "No, no."

"Why? It's your job to teach me," I replied, rising to my feet.

Nagsimula na siyang lumakad paalis so I needed to stop her.

"I will treat you to lunch 'pag pumayag ka dahil kanina pa ako gutom."

"Bakit bad words?" she asked, clearly annoyed.

"Why not?" I shot back, equally irritated.

"Why not? Coconut? Peanut?"

"What?" I asked, confused. "What are you talking about?"

"No English kasi."

Arrrgghhh... Yeah.. I always forget that. "Okay, patawad."

"Bakit mo ba iyon gustong matutunan?"

We were both shocked - me for saying something I shouldn't have, and her for discovering that secret.

"Sino? Si Gilbert Angeles? Iyong photographer?" she said with a laugh.

"How did you know that?"

This time, siya na lang ang nagulat. She started messing with her hair and stammered. Iyon lang," she finally exhaled.

Should I believe her? Her reaction suggested she might be hiding more than just her knowledge of Mom's lover.

Since I consider her my companion now, I decided to accept her answer.

"Fine, I won't ask anymore.

Ayokong magmura dahil magagalit ang Diyos," she explained, shaking her head.

I cringed at the mention of that word I didn't want to hear. "Pwede ba?

Iyong magmura?"

What now? Is she teasing me into saying it myself?

"No. The last word."

"Ahh...

"Snack, kamo. Lampas pananghalian na, oh."she said, looking at me with a mix of concern and amusement.

"Bahala na. But please, turuan mo na ako." I insisted.

Muli siyang napailing.

Since hindi ko siya mapipilit na turuan ako ng bisaya bad words, then, I'll just agree with her suggestion.

"Fine. Ano ang mga iyon?" I replied, trying to sound less desperate.

We stood there, enjoying the breeze around us. Before she could say anything, I grabbed her hand and led us to a spot where we could sit comfortably.

"Now, turuan mo ako," I commanded, taking a seat and looking at her expectantly.
