I've have way to much caffeine
Diego stopped the car infront of a large building
Each of us got out, slowly making our way to the doors.
"D.S. Umbrella. This is it." Diego says
We walked up to the door when Five suddenly stopped. Staring at the sign on the side of the doors.
"You okay?" Diego asked him
Five took a moment to answer
"Yeah, fine." He began while he started to walk again just more tense
"Just..." Five sighed
"How long's it been since you've seen the old man?" Diego asked him as he kneeled down she he could unlock the door
"Fourth-five years." Five answered
"That's a trip."
"No kidding."
Five signed once again before leaning onto the wall
"You know when I was stuck out there in the apocalypse, there wasn't a day that went by where I didn't hear his voice in my head." Five admitted looking into the building through the glass door
"What was he saying?" Diego asked him
"I told you so." Five said causing Diego to slightly scoff
"Well, if Dad's here, he's never met you before, so he can't say 'I told you so." Diego stated trying to cheer Five up
"I'm sure he'll find a way." Five responded
There was a slight silence before Five jumped into then building and unlocked the doors for us.
"Right. Gotta remember that." Diego commented before getting up and going inside
I followed after and sighed, I went up to Five and tried to be a bit comforting.
"Even if the old man says 'I told you so.' He doesn't know what you went through to get back, and we sure as hell won't allow him to say those words." I told him, then turned and walked back to Diego.
Five turned on a lamp only for it to turn back off.
"Shit."
"Guess Dad wasn't much for home decor." Diego said making me snort
Five touched a chair and turned back to us.
"Feels more like a front." He said
"A front for what?" Diego asked him
"I don't know."
Diego turned back to the two doors that were across from each other.
"Well, I'll take the left. Yell if you, uh... get in trouble." Diego tells Five
"Uh, there's another person here. What am I supposed do?" I asked him
Diego turned to me then looked at Five
'Oh please no.'
"Go with Five. The same rule goes for you, if something happens, yell." He tells me before turning and closing the door
I sighed and reluctantly followed Five through the right door. Five began to check for doors that were unlocked before coming across one. He flicked on the light to reveal three mannequins sitting on chairs with cartoon like pictures of houses in them.
"Well that's not creepy." I commented
"What're you up to?" Five asks as if Dad we're here with us
The lights shut off leaving nothing else to look at.
"Okay so, I'll try to find some more unlocked doors. Ok, ok." I said trying to get out of there
"Wait a second." Five called out. stopping me in my tracks
"Why're you so pissed at me?" He asked me heading down the hallway checking more doors.
I cleared my throat and got my fingers ready so I could count.
"Well let's see, you stranded me in the 60's, come back, tell me that the world is ending again, tried to get me to abandon Mel, bruised my wrist, continuously broke in to Mels place, and we're just a really big asshole. So I think I have a good reason to be pissed at you
"Look I didn't mean to hurt your wrist, alright. And when you put the facts like that, yes I do sound like an asshole I see your point. A lot of stuff happened, I saw you all die again, I saw hazel die, and I saw the end of the world once again-" I stopped in my tracks and cut him off
"Wait, you saw us die?" I asked him
He nodded and found an unlocked door. We stepped inside, there were three more mannequins sitting at a table with a video camera facing towards them. I walked up to the Camera while Five walked over to the desk and started to search. I examined the camera before going towards the mannequins. They had a tea set out, almost like they were having something to eat. The flattering of metal made me jump and sent me walking backwards, away from the noise. Five began to follow the noise and tried to find where it was coming from.
"Five!" I whisper shouted
Something small emerged from the shadows, a small ape.
"Pogo?" Five asked
He started to get closer while talking softly to it.
"It's alright little buddy." Five reassures mini Pogo
"Pogo, it's good to see you." Five tells him
Pogo then screeched and clawed Fives neck, then jumped out the window to escape.
"Five, are you okay!?" I asked running up to him and kneeling down to him offering my hand to help him up
Five held his neck with one hand and took my hand with the other. We started calling for Diego's name but never got an answer.
I took off my flats and threw them onto the floor then took off down the hallway Diego went is as I called out his name. I could find him anywhere so I made my way back to Five.
"Were throwing the shoes down necessary?" He asked me sarcastically
"Yes, definitely. Now are we gonna find our brother or what?" I asked him
The blue glow of his spatial jump appeared at his hands signalling that it was time to go.
"But what about Diego? We can't leave him here."
Five sighed and grabbed onto my hand before jumping.
We appeared back at Elliotts, greeted with the sight of Lila on our brother tending a wound he got.
"Oh, he isn't dead." Five stated
"Disappointed?" Lila asked
"Oh, to see you? Always." Five answered as he leaned down to something for his neck
"So much hostility I'm such a tiny package." Lila commented
She saw Five put the cloth thing on his neck to clean up the blood.
"Did you cut yourself shaving? I could teach you to shave like a big boy." She offered
Five sighed and answered her
"No, I just ran into an old family friend."
Soft snoring was heard behind us, turns out she hasn't untied Elliott yet.
"You didn't untie him?" Five asked her
"Was I supposed to?" She shot back
"Lady's , lady's you're both pretty, can we move onto the next thing now?" I asked as I made my way over to Elliott to untie him
Once I did I walked back to Five and looked at his neck.
"Can I clean that before it haunts me in my sleep?" I asked him sighing
"I-um, okay." He agreed
I looked in Elliott's bathroom and finally found a first-aid kit.
He followed me in and just stood there, I pointed at the edge of the bathtub for him to sit on. When he did I got out some peroxide and put it on a thing of toilet paper.
"This may sting a bit." I tell him as I put the toilet paper on his neck.
After I cleaned it I noticed that Elliott didn't have any bandages so I could put anything else on it.
"You're good." I tell him
"Thanks." He said as he turned to me
It was this silent moment where nothing was said or done, he looked down and took my hands in his.
"Y/N, I never meant to hurt you." He looked back up at my eyes
"I'm sorry." He apologized
He breathed in and spoke the words I didn't want to hear him say
"I still love you."
I took a breath and moved my hands back before getting up.
"I need to go." I tell him as I walk out of the bathroom
"Wait why?" He asked me as he followed me out the bathroom
"It's late, I need to see Mel. And-and I just need to go."
I walked down the back stairs until Five cut me off at the bottom.
"Is that really the reason why?" He asked
I pushed past him and walked out the door and ran out the alley. I ran until I reached the shop, I got in and locked the door before taking in a breath and falling down onto the floor as tears fell from the corners of my eyes and down my face.People think a soul mate is your perfect fit, and that's what everyone wants. But a true soul mate is a mirror, the person who shows you everything that is holding you back, the person who brings you to your own attention so you can change your life.
A true soul mate is probably the most important person you'll ever meet, because they tear down your walls and smack you awake. But to live with a soul mate forever? Nah. Too painful. Soul mates, they come into your life just to reveal another layer of yourself to you, and then leave.
A soul mates purpose is to shake you up, tear apart your ego a little bit, show you your obstacles and addictions, break your heart open so new light can get in, make you so desperate and out of control that you have to transform your life, then introduce you to your spiritual master...
