Mel came down the stairs in her PJ's and rubbed her eyes.
"Sweetheart is that you?" She asked
I got up from the floor and quickly wiped my tears
"Just me Melly." I answered back
She gave a little 'oh' and walked back up the stairs
"Get to bed soon, alright." She said in a tired voice
"Alright, night mom." I said before realizing what I just called her
She was already up the stairs so I hoped she didn't hear me.
I walked up the stairs into my room and went to sleep.
The next morning the shop was closed for the day giving me time to clean while Mel slept in. I made her some breakfast and set the table, chuckling when I heard her scurrying out of her room as she adjusted her dress.
"Morning Mel." I greeted handing her a cup of coffee
"Morning sweetheart." She greeted while fixing her hair
I looked at her confused and sat down on the chair in front of me.
"Got somewhere to be?" I asked her leaning on my hand
"No, well yes. I have a meeting with some friends. I probably won't be back till late tonight, but I'll leave you some money if you want to buy something to eat." She explained
She stopped in her tracks and turned to me
"Did you call me Mom last night or was I just really tired?" She asked me with a confused smile
My face heated up, I tried to hide it in my arms but that gave Mel her answer. She began to laugh as he made her way over to me and kissed my forehead.
"It's alright, I didn't mind it to be honest." Mel told me as she continued to stroke my hair
She took a look at her watch and began to run down the stairs
"Have fun." I called out
She already went out the door though, leaving me alone to my thoughts.
I still love you
What idiot would say that?
I sighed and glanced at my hands, they were. Cold.
Just as I finished cleaning the familiar sound of one of Fives jump entered the room. I shot around and noticed him right in front of the table slightly leaning on it.
"You broke in again." I told him with a groan
"Well we don't have much time." He says as his eyes follow me around the room
"Do we ever have enough?" I asked making him chuckle
"Look I'm gonna quickly explain this, we found Vanya's location." He explained as he fixed his stance
My eyes widened and the plate I was holding slipped out of my hands. Five jumped beside me and caught it just before it hit the ground.
"You should be careful with these, they look old." He tells me, setting the plate down on the counter.
I was still staring in disbelief at him which caused a chuckle to escape his lips.
"Shall we go, I can tell you wanna see her." Five offered his arm for me to grab so that we could jump
I grinned and grabbed onto him, the next thing I saw was an endless field of corn, the type that was easy to get lost in. Five looked back at me "Come on, Love." He said as he grabbed my hand and began to lead me
What he just called me didn't cross my mind at all. It didn't bother me either, all I really cared about in that moment was Vanya and if I was really able to see her again. I won't deny though, his warm hand did bring a slight smile to my lips, it was small but still there. Five moved some corn out of the way before noticing a figure in a patch. He moved them aside to reveal Vanya
"Hi, Vanya." He greeted
Vanya stood up cautiously and kept glancing at both of us
"Who are you?" She asked, which was odd I don't know how long she's been in the 60's for but it hasn't been that long has it?
"I'm your brother." Five answered her stepping aside so she could get up properly
"I have a brother?" Vanya asked him standing up then turning slightly to look at me
"Who's she?" Vanya asked Five which sent a bullet straight through my heart
I stood there completely still with tears running down from my eyes like an endless waterfall. I took a breath in and wiped my tears.
"Hey, V."
