"Now what?" Luther asked
"Now nothing, Luther, all right? Make your peace with God." Five said raising his voice in frustration
"What? What about Allison and Vanya?"
"Screw them both, alright, they should have been here." Five said as he paced around
I know it's normally my job to calm him down but this time, he needs to blow off some steam.
"What about Diego? He's quite a responsible young man, no?" Klaus asked still on the floor
"Something must've happened to them." Luther suggested
"Screw Diego, all right? Screw everybody! I was better off on my own in the apocalypse." Five said
"Hey!" I yelled
"Five! Come on." Luther tried to calm him down
"You know what, Luther? It's ever sibling for himself now. How 'bout that?" Five said as he walked back into Elliotts
"Did Five just get meaner?" Klaus asked sadly
"Klaus, go check on Allison, okay? Make sure she's okay. Find the others and we'll meet back here. Ill handle Five. Y/N, go with him." Luther tells us
"No." I say
"Y/N, now's not the time for disagreements." Luthers tried to tell me
"I should stay here, as much as I would love more sibling time with Klaus, I know how to deal with Five." I explain before walking back inside before Luther could protest.
Luther followed right after me
"Her! Five, doomsday is still coming. We gotta think of a new plan." Luther told Five
"Don't you get it, Luther? It's over, all right? We're already dead." Five shot back at him
"Then where are you going?"
"I'm going to do the unthinkable."
"What the hell is that supposed to mean?" Luther asked
"I was really hoping it wouldn't come to this." Five said to himself
"Come to what, Five?" Luther and I asked
Five didn't respond he only kept walking until he locked himself in a room.
After a while of Luther trying get in he gave up. I approached the door and knocked lightly.
"Five, you don't have to let me in but just know that what ever plan you're coming up with, I'm right behind you." I say through the door
I sat on the ground and waited, I kept waiting for what felt like hours and I found my eyelids becoming rather heavy.
"Number Eight, if you refuse to co-operate that I shall have to keep you in here even longer." Dad's voice told me
I couldn't take it, My reflection tainted me so much that I actually felt like it was talking to me, repeating everything Dad said
'Poor little number eight' was the jingle she would chant.
"Y/N?" I heard someone say
I stirred awake to see Five shaking my shoulder, I was still on the floor outside the door, I must've fallen asleep.
"Are you alright?" I asked him
He shrugged and headed into the kitchen. He was getting a bunch of weird stuff out.
"Hey, can you take a moment and stop for a breath?" I ask him.
He stood still and took in a breath. His back was turned to me but that wasn't gonna stop me from trying my best to help him. I hooked my arms around him and gave him a soft hug, my head was resting on the back of his shoulder as I got lost in the happiness of having him in my arms. I let go of him and he turned around, he gave me another hug and held me tightly to him.
"Chèrie, you know I love you right?" He asks me
(The French pet name is for my bro tozierswhore
You gave me a really adorably idea, I hope you're doing well, also for you who don't know what Chèrie means, it means Sweetheart in french)I smiled and hugged him tighter.
"Yeah, I know."
I wanted to say it back so badly, but I wasn't ready to. All I could do was continue to hold on to him tightly. His soft lips touch my forehead, then landed on my cheek, he put his fingers on my chin and had me look him in the eyes.
"Five?" Luthers voice came from the living room
We puller apart and Five went back to doing the things he was doing. Luther walked in as Five drank a huge thing of water.
"You okay?" Luther asked him
"I'm gonna need to be hydrated." Five told him
"Hydrated?"
Five then took baby powered and started to put it all over him, I looked at Luther and he made a face which asked if I knew what was going on, I shrugged at watched in confusion.
"What's with the baby powder?" Luther asked him
"It'll help with the itching." Five answered as he put more on him
"What itching? There's itching? What the hell is going on here?"
"You do have a plan." Luther said with realization in his voice
"I'm not surprised." I said smiling
"Well, it's a desperation mov, but... since our brain-dead siblings are incapable of meeting a simple deadline, I got no choice." Five explained
"No choice about what?" Luther questioned
"I have to find myself." Five answered
Luther and I looked confused as hell, Five pulled out a pocket watch and looked at it for a second then put it back in his pocket.
"I just arrived in Dallas 15 minutes ago." Five told us
"Should I be worried about you?" Luther asked him which made me chuckle
"Luther, if you recall, I was sent to 1963 on a job by the commission to make sure the president was assassinated." Five explained as he stretched
"Oh! So wait, your old self is out there." Luther says as he came to the realization.
"Precisely."
"What, just walking around Dallas?"
"Walking around Dallas with a briefcase that can get us home." Five said
"Oh, my God. Five, you're a genius." Luther told him happily
"However, there are two significant problems with this plan. Problem one: I am a trained assassin, arguably the most dangerous assassin in the space-time continuum. If I know me, I'm not going to react kindly to bumping into myself. Problem number two, and this is the real flu in the ointment here: you're not supposed to exists in close proximity to yourself in the same timeline. The side effects can be disastrous." Five explained to us as he walked all around the room
"Disastrous how?" I asked
"Side effects? What sort of side effects?" Luther asked at the same time as me
"Well, according to Commission Handbook Chapter 27, subsection 3b, the seven stages in paradox psychosis are... stage one: denial, two: itching, three: extreme thirst and urination, four: excessive gas, five: acute paranoia, six: uncontrollable perspiration, and seven: homicidal rage." Five explained as he raised his fingers to count
"Homicidal rage?"
"Yeah."
"Jeez, I don't know. This maybe isn't such a good idea." Luther said doubt-idly
"Maybe Luthers actually right." I say concerned
"It's a Hail Mary. But what choice to we got, Guys?" Five asked
"I don't know, you already seem a bit squirrelly if I'm being honest." Luther pointed out
"Look, Luther. I'm gonna need you to help me get through this one, all right? I... I need a spotter." Five told him as he walked up to Luther
"A spotter?"
"Yeah."
"What is that? Like a wingman?" Luther asked him
"In case the paradox psychosis gets too severe, I need you to help me stay on task, all right? So, whatever happens, whatever I say, we need to get that briefcase." Five explained to him
"Okay?"
"Okay."
"Okay."
"Wait a second, what do I do?" I asked
The finally realized that there was another person there and Luther thought while Five walked up to me.
"I need you too keep me calmed. So just...be yourself." Five told me as he grabbed my hand and took me with him.
"Luther, come on." Five called
"Right."
As we walked down the stairs a felt a really uncomfortable feeling that went through my entire body. I ignored it and tried to get my head back on the task. We eventually found our way to wooden building that was playing Irish music. We walked in and looked around.
"Well, there I am." Five said drawing mine and Luthers attention.
We all leaned over and saw an old looking man sitting down with a briefcase right beside him.
"That's you?" I asked as I pointed at the man
Five said a little 'yup' and let go of my hand.
"Why don't we just grab the briefcase and run?" Luther asked him
"Luther I would never let that happen. We're trained to guard these briefcases with our lives." Five explained to him
"Right."
"Plus, it's the inherent paradox where this gets tricky. I'm endangering my existence just being in the room with myself." Five told us
"What do you mean?" Luther asked him
"Luther, try and keep up. If the old me doesn't travel back to 2019 like he's supposed to, the whole thing unravels itself. I cease to exist. You got me?" Five explained/ asked
"I got you." Luther said confused
"Wait if there's the possibility of you ceasing to exist then why are we risking it?" I asked Five with a sort of angry tone in my voice.
"Because, if we all stay here any longer we could mess up this timeline more, and if we get this briefcase then the world won't end." Five explained to me
I sighed and nodded, understanding why he would risk it but still not liking it.
"So our best chance is to talk to him, to reason with him. He'll understand. Trust me. I know myself better than, uh... better than I know myself." Five told us as he scratched his neck
"You just itched your neck. That's stage two of paradox psychosis." Luther pointed out
"No, I didn't. I didn't itch my neck." Five denied
"Denial is stage one."
"I am fine, okay? Let's stay on task, shall we?" Five said annoyed before trying to walk up to...well Five.
"Wait." Luther stopped him
"What?"
"Maybe I should go first." Luther suggested
"Why?" Five asked him
"You'll freak him out. Bumping into your own tiny doppelganger? He will lose his shit. Just let me break the ice." Luther offered
Five reluctantly agreed and stayed back, I stayed right beside and and grabbed his hand so he wouldn't use it to scratch himself. Five walked up behind a pillar as Luther talked to Five.2.
"Uh! Don't freak out. No freak outs. All right." Luther said before stepping aside so Five could reveal himself
Five.2 sat there speechless as Five stood there letting his other self take everything in for a second.
"Hey there, stranger."
