You laid your head on the table as the whole class left the class. You sighed in relief that everyone left you alone. You were the most genius student in the whole school this is why you were named as Nerd. Not having any friends was also one of the reasons. You didn't mind them calling you a nerd but you hated it when students bullied you. Of course everyone does. Prom was on Saturday and no one asked you out yet. It didn't bother you until you saw adorable proposals all around the school. It made you feel really upset. You brushed off the feeling and grabbed your stuff then headed out.
It was your last class and you were a few minutes late to your class since some bullies stole your book and it took time to find them. You slowly opened the door and found everyone staring at you. "May I know why are you late?" Your teacher asked while you walked inside a bit and closed the door behind you. "I....ummm someone stole my book so I was trying to find it." The students started giggling while the teacher sighed. "It's alright. Take a seat now." You nodded. You looked around and found only one seat that was left for you which was next your Jace Norman. The schools heartthrob. Girls drooled over him. He sure was handsome indeed. He was also your middle school crush and your friend until he started dating Liv.
Liv was the most popular girl in school since the start and every guy wanted her and Jace was one of them. After he started dating her, He started seeing you less. He ignored you and acted like you weren't there. It broke you down truly but you knew this is how life is. People come and go but life keeps going. Since then your trust in people started fading away. Jace soon found out that Liv cheated on him and slept with some other dude. He turned cold and quiet. He was definitely not like that at all when he was with you. Right now you had no choice but to sit next to him. You went to the seat with your head hanging low. Without making eye contact with him you sat down and took out your books.
You adjusted your glasses and heard a scoff. You brushed it off and focused on the lesson. It definitely come from Jace and you were aware. The whole class went by and you sat there in an awkward position. As soon as the class ended you grabbed your belongings and exited the class. You were ready to leave the school when someone pulled you back. "Where are you going nerd?" The voice belonged to a female. You closed your eyes since you knew who that voice belongs to. You turned around and found Liv standing there with a wide smirk on her face which was not leaving any time soon. "So how did it felt sitting next to someone's boyfriend?" Liv stood there. Her arms crossed over her chest.
"He is not your boyfriend." You mumbled but it was loud enough for Liv to hear. She scoffed and took a step closer to you. "He is mine only." She smirked again as she saw you step back in fear. "Okay. I don't even want him." You closed your eyes and said in a whisper. "By the way who is your date for the prom?" She knew you didn't had a date but how could she miss the chance to bully you like everyone else. You stayed quiet. "Oh I forgot. Who is gonna ask a nerd like you." Liv said loudly that students standing in the hall heard her and started laughing. Jace was standing there watching the whole scene but he didn't make a move. He just left the school.
He left immediately. His blood was actually boiling as he saw Liv making fun of you and embarrassing you in front of everyone but he couldn't make a move. He hated himself for that. He kept on cursing under his breath. "You are such a horrible person!" He kept on talking to himself on the way back to his house. As he got inside his house, his mom saw the anger on her face. He kicked his shoes off and threw his bag on the couch then flopped on the couch while holding his head. "Usually people say "I'm home" or "hey everyone" but my son is different." She joked and expected Jace to laugh or at least smile but he didn't. She gave up and sighed. "What's wrong?" She placed her hand on his shoulder and waited.
"Nothing." He spoke in a low voice before getting up and leaving. She watched him leave but didn't stop him. She knew he would open up on his own. Jace went to his room and threw himself on the bed and stared at the ceiling. "Ugh!" He groaned. He saw the door open, revealing his mother. Who walked in with a laundry basket. "Have you decided what you are going to wear for the prom?" She asked while she grabbed his dirty clothes. "I am not going." She looked at him and sighed. "Why not?" She sat down on the bed and saw him sit back up. "Come on tell me. I'll try my best to help." He sighed before speaking. "I saw Liv bullying y/n in the hall way..." She thought he was gonna say more but he didn't. "And what did you?" His head fell and he stayed quiet.
