"Woah, dude. You met him? I mean, from all of the people in the world – him?"
Darcy had her eyes wide open and Lenna was just speechless for the past ten minutes. I told them all about my coincidental and embarrassing meet with Colt. It was evening time and we three were face timing each other.
"Yes, Darcy. I know, I still am not able to digest that. But this did happen. I heard him sing and that's when he saw me... in a totally awkward situation."
"Oh my god, he's too sweet to be helping you out rightaway, Evie!" Lenna, who was finally out of her thinking trance, spoke in an excited tone. "Just think about it. Why would he even care to listen to all your family story?"
"Thanks for finally acknowledging our existence," I said in sarcasm. "And the reason he is willing to help me is probably that he relates with my sentiments. He was actually very understanding... and sweet."
The flashes of the time I spent with Colt in the morning came in front of my eyes and a smile naturally formed.
"What was his name again?", asked Darcy.
"Colt Denver Valenza," I replied as my heart
"Hmm. And what about the singing competition?"
"Did you tell your parents about it?" Lenna added.
I sighed, "Not yet. But I will during dinner."
"This is a great chance for you. If you win this, then not just your granny's but even you can get something out of it," Lenna said with a brief smile.
"Besides, it's James Thompson we're talking about. Working with him is such a golden chance for any singer."
My best friends are too supportive of me. We have always been this way from the very start. We support and stand by one another, rather than getting jealous or taking revenge.
I smiled at them and nodded, "I obviously want to do it. Not for my own benefit. It's for granny. But this was an absolute surprise for me that the winner gets to sign an album contract with James Thompson."
"By the way, Ev, I wanted to tell you something," said Lenna with a mischievous smile playing on her face.
Darcy's eyes suddenly grew larger as she glared at her, "are you crazy, Len? Ev, it's nothing. Trust me."
I raised my eyebrows at them, "fine. But I want to know now. What's it, Len?"
Lenna, who was still smirking at Darcy, spoke, "Well, it's about something that happened during the beach party. It involves Darcy and, this will shock you, Keaton."
This time, my eyes grew bigger than ever, "Keaton? Did he say something to you guys? I swear, if he has done anything stupid, then I'm not gonna –"
"Hey, wait up, girl. That isn't what happened. Right, Darcy?"
