The next day, mom, me, and Evander went together to visit granny. I was very excited to tell her about my selection. She will be so happy.
On one hand, I was delighted with the selection, while on the other, I was so concerned for Darcy and Lenna. I have been messaging these two since last night, telling them continuously that I need to talk urgently. But they've just been ignoring my texts, or are replying in monosyllables. I wonder if they already know what happened and are now upset with me.
Goodness, this was what I've been afraid of. Now they'll feel so bad, and they probably think that I'm such a meanie to them.
I was getting anxious, thinking that I might just lose my very dear besties. I even told Colt how Darcy and Lenna weren't talking to me, but all he said was to give them time.
We reached the hospital and went to granny's room. Dr. Wendy was also there, just talking with her. Granny smiled widely the moment she saw us enter.
"There they are!", she exclaimed while opening her arms to us.
Evander and I went towards her and gave her a warm hug. Granny was getting better with each passing day, which was such a big relief for us all.
"How are you, mom?", mom asked.
"Fine, dear. Now I feel much better than before."
"When can granny come home, Dr. Wendy?", I asked.
She gave me her usual smile, "I'd say for the next few days, your granny will have to stay. But you can take her home this weekend."
"Yay!", Evander jumped with happiness, making us all laugh.
"Granny? Where's Cameron?", I asked when I didn't saw her anywhere. Usually, she's either with granny or outside the room with the doctor.
"Oh, yes. I told her to go and spend her Christmas with family. I already have you folks with me, then why should I keep the poor girl away from her home. She's done a lot for me."
"Aw, granny. You're so sweet. You did the right thing!", I agreed with her.
Just then, I noticed a bouquet of beautiful white and pink roses placed at the side table of granny's bed. It had a small note placed above, which read 'Get Well Soon' with a smiley. My eyes rose instantly seeing that and I turned to look at her.
"Who sent this?"
Everyone's attention turned to the bouquet.
"Oh, quit the acting, Evie. I know you people sent it," granny laughed and waved her hand in the air.
However, we stared at her in puzzlement.
"Mom, we do have a gift for you. But first, it isn't delivered to you yet. And second, it is not a bouquet," mom told her.
"What? Then, who sent these to me?", granny questioned as she shifted her eyes between us.
"Dad, maybe?", I guessed.
