My eyes fluttered open. It was so silent. I could hear the birds chirping and a faint ray of sunlight was trying to lighten the room through the drapes. Rising on my elbow I tried to get up but Mahen's left hand was wrapped around my waist pinning me to the bed.

He looked so contained, so peaceful and happy, whereas in my case I cannot deny that there was a turmoil going on inside my head. There were so many questions, alerts and voices, clouding my mind but looking at Mahen's face somehow, for now, I wanted to live in this moment. Worries of my extra dramatic life can wait.

The sudden ringing of a phone startled me. I turned and saw it was Mahen's phone vibrating on the nightstand. I picked up the device and saw it was Koushik trying to connect him in a video group chat. I was about to cut the call when Mahen stirred in his sleep brushing against me and I accidentally pressed the answer button. Shit!

Immediately three faces appeared on the screen. "What the F – " before they could complete the sentence I disconnected and sprang up. I shook Mahen, "get up, we are screwed!" I wrapped the bedsheet around me and searched for my phone.

"Where's my phone?" I asked staring at him in disbelieve. He happily yawned and looked at me with a smile. I laughed inside, wait till you hear what just happened Mr. then I will ask you to smile.

"Mahendra Ganguly, did you by any chance mentioned Koushik about this situation?"

"No, he doesn't know anything," he frowned.

"Then best of luck with explaining him for just now when you decided to stir in your happy sleep I accidentally answered his video group chat which happened to have two other participants named Suchitra Lahiri and Rachayita Mukherjee," I blurted out. He stared at me with a horrified expression for a good ten seconds.

"Holy fuck!" he covered his face with the blanket and again fell on the bed.

"Don't you dare sleep again? Get up! We need to solve this issue," I tried pulling him up.

His phone again started ringing. He checked the screen and cursed, then shoved the device to me saying, "I can't handle this one. She will either scream or start threatening. She has made my life hell since childhood! I don't want any extra dose. You deal with her."

I frowned and saw it was now Rai calling him. "Shit."

"Shit? You think that's shit?" Mahen picked up his track pants from the floor and wore them not bothering my presence. I averted my eyes while he continued, "this particular being is calling me after ten years, and you think its just shit?"

I bit my lips. I knew that if Rai was calling Mahen then this was bad, very bad.

"Listen, we will deal with them in a few hours. First I need some clothes."

He stared at me as if I had asked him to solve the 12th-grade trigonometry once more. "What clothes?"

"Mahen, last night you tore all my clothes including the undergarments. I cannot speak to them wearing this!" I gestured at the bedsheet that I was clutching over my chest.

"So you mean, you are naked under that," he smirked moving towards me.

"Stay right there and concentrate," I almost barked out.

"I would love to but first remove the bedsheet."

"Shut up and get me some clothes!" I shouted. But he still stood there. "Now!" I screamed. He laughed and was about to go outside when I asked, "By the way Mahen, where exactly are we?"

"Purulia. Bagmundi, to be precise," he smiled and left. So this is the Ganguly farmhouse.

We had planned short road trips with our gang during school days but it never happened. I was finally here, a place we only heard about. Quickly taking a look around the room I immediately fell for the beautiful tribal decorations.
