chapter 30

IU's P.O.V.

I reminisce, staring out my window pane as I watch the raindrops fall to the ground.

It's only been the first day in america, yet it's already giving me a bad welcome. I still couldn't move on, I almost met a plane crash last night and it's been raining all day in here.

It's been a bad start.

Just then, my phone rang loudly, grabbing my attention. I took my phone out of my pockets, only to see it was Jungkook calling.

"Ji-eun~shi!" A loud welcome from Jungkook was right away met as I answered the call.

"Do you remember this place?" He showed around the place, which made me stop as I realize.

It's the resort he made reservations with on our third year anniversary..

And me being too caught up with work, I never showed up at that day and let him down.

"I see you are having a trip there." I said, with a silent sigh afterwards. "If you didn't leave, you would have enjoyed with me and Nayeon here."

"But then now you left, you missed your second chance..." I put a faint smile on my face, "Hello IU!" Nayeon greeted, cheerful and energetic.

"It's a shame you didn't come with us, it's so fun here!" I could hear the excitement in her voice, knowing she really was happy.

"Don't worry, next time I'll come there with you so we could have fun together." As I said those words, Nayeon's smile suddenly turned into a frown.

I scrutinize her eyes, knowing there's something she isn't telling me.

Or maybe I'm just being paranoid.

Maybe Nayeon's just nervous since this is her first trip with Jungkook, alone and without me.

"Okay, I think we might have to end the conversation here. I don't want to ruin the fun you both are experiencing now."

"You aren't ruining the fun, and we really wanted to call you especially Nayeon, she said she misses you..."
Jungkook looked at Nayeon, smiling as she stares intently to her.

I miss both of you too, especially you Jungkook....

"But you must be busy, so we'll just bid our goodbyes then." Jungkook says, "Goodbye Ji-eun. Take care, alright?" I nod at his statement, smiling because of his concern of me.

"Goodbye, IU. I'll miss you...." Nayeon bids next, with a faint smile written on her face.

I'll miss you? Isn't it supposed to be I miss you?

"Goodbye, have fun!" As soon as the call ended, I couldn't help but frown.

If I have spent more time with him, made him my first priority, then I would still be in his arms. Yet it's over now, I'm too late.

All I could us wish for his true hapiness..

Nayeon's P.O.V.

As soon as the call ended, I leave a deep sigh.

I'll surely miss her when I have to go back already...

Just then, I felt an arm around my waist making me look to my side seeing Jungkook with a smile.

"Don't be so down. Surely she'll be fine." He assured me making me smile and nod.

"Thanks Jungkook." I said. He chuckled and pulled me into a hug which I gladly accepted.

"Are you hungry? We can go eat at the buffet there." Jungkook pointed somewhere so I followed.

I was quite taken aback when I spotted someone near that place.

And the person was definitely not the person I want to see right now.

Jinyoung...

He is currently grinning at me which I hated a lot.

I look at Jungkook and by the looks of it, he didn't found out that Jinyoung is here.

"U-uhm... I'm a little tired. Can we go rest at our room first?" I asked while smiling.

"Sure." He said grabbing my hand as we walk at the opposite direction where Jinyoung is.

"Jinyoung? How are you here?"

I asked Jinyoung. How I'm here with him? When I told Jungkook to rest. We did. He is sound asleep so I decided to have a little talk with Jinyoung to make sure he won't cause any scenes.

"You are mine, so i track you wherever you are." He grinned, his deep blue eyes staring intently to mine.

"Correction, I'm not your girlfriend, cheater." I rolled my eyes at him, in which he only chuckled at.

"Have you decided yet?"

"No. But I have to go back anyways, even if I say I don't want to leave..."

"And only I can help you go back." He said with a grin.

Why is this guy always grinning? It irritates me!

Before I can speak another word, I heard someone call me making me and Jinyoung look at where the voice was coming from.

Jungkook is coming...

I look desperately at Jinyoung. "Go, now!" I whisper-yelled while pushing him away.

"Nayeon?" I look back with a shocked expression and saw Jungkook standing not too far from me with a questioned face.

"H-hm?" I stuttered.

"Why are you here? All alone?" He asked while walking towards me.

I look back slightly and sighed in relief when I didn't found Jinyoung anywhere.

"I just went here for some fresh air." I smiled at him.

"You should've told me so. It's still dangerous for you to walk all alone here." He said while looking around.

I pouted. "Mianhe." I said when he looked at me.

He chuckled and put his arm around my shoulders. "Gwaenchana." He said and kissed my cheeks lightly making me blush.

"Let's go at the pool." He said as we both started walking.

"Yah, Jungkook stop-" Before I could even finish, a huge splash came through my face. "Jungkook!" I yelled.

He kept chuckling and laughing, teasing me every single time, splashing water at me.

"Jungkook!" I tried to push him, kick him, and hit him for him to stop. But he'll just lift me up from the water, and drop me to the water playfully.

I faked cry as I stood still on the pool, making him swim towards me. Before he knew it, I splashed water at his face.

Instead of being angry, surprised or laughing, his expression was completely blank which made me raise my brows.

"Nayeon... your hair is turning brown."

Did I hear that wrong? Did he just say.... my hair turned brown?

Brown means... happy.
