sensen vs seido , interview

The morning of our match up with sensen arrived and we went to the stadium .

Crowd- look seido high school team arrived.  Hahah... I'm looking forward to today's match up particularly..

Crowd - yeah , these days their batting performance is not that good except yuki and Ken.  Sigh I wonder whether they can hit makis balls or not .

After listening to the worry of crowd , my teammates were ashamed while I was happy for the praise . This lit the fire in their hearts and everyone went to battle mode way earlier than the start of the match. 

We quickly reached our dugout and and saw the huge maki the giant who was standing out alone from his other teammates.  Still no one was intimidated by his size as they had the confidence from practice with the coach. 

The match quickly started . It was our turn to bat first .

In the first inning maki displayed remarkable performance and struck our 3 batters with only 9 pitches in the strike zone . Seeing this everybody s confidence took a hit . Still coach believed in us and didn't lecture about anything .

Then tanba senpai brought the fighting spirit back by striking out their 3 batters too without allowing anyone to touch their feet on first base .

In the second inning , yuki senpai senpai was also struck out following with masuko senpai too . My turn came rather quickly.  I sighed inwardly and stepped in the batter box . I released my aura at full power and tried to concentrate fully on the ball . First pitched was a strike in side straight fastball which I intentionally let go to read the ballls trajectory.  Second ball came,  again the same fastball and the same course but was slightly lower than the first.  I took a heavy step forward and did a full swing with great speed but with bat pointing slightly upwards  . I with I cool expression started circling the field slowly without looking at the aftermath . I then did a guts pose when crowd started shouting home run home.... .. and touched the home plate with my foot . I saw the disbelief expression on maki and the catchers face and went to the bench where my teammates were cheering for me . I guessed the expressions from before were because the pitch I hit the home run from was the best pitch maki had thrown from the start of the game till that time .

Then the game continued.  Maki was in bad shape after my home run and my teammates started to hit the ball fairly easily after our captain hit a home run from the curveball . Tanba senpai allowed only a single run the whole game . The matched ended with our victory . Maki never got back in shape after my hit and tanba senpai showed the pride of ace and didn't allow any more runs . The final score was 6 to 1 .

My achievements were

3 at bats  , one home run and 2 walks

This time our team showed the real batting skills for the first time in an official game from the start of the tournament ..

When I was packing my things to go back coach called me .

Coach- ken ( smile ) , there is an interview for a local newspaper for you in five minutes . Go give a nice one and learn from the experience as there will be many more in future .

Ken - yes sir ( excited )

I was really excited of the fact that I could be on the newspaper first time in my life . It was my dream to become famous baseball player so I followed coach advice and prepared a nice speech and went to meet the interview  .

I saw young lady wearing a white cap and casual clothes waiting for me writing something on a small notebook . I went and greeted her . I managed to hear her name it was sakura .really she a beautiful lady . I enjoyed my small time with her .

Sakura - so , player Ken.  What's the main reason of your win and the loss of sensen academy in your opinion .

Ken - cough . My opinion huh , look I'm straightforward guy so I will give you my honest opinion. I think the main reason four their loss was the difference in the aces of both teams.  You can feel the difference between the fighting spirits after looking at their eyes . Maki got intimidated easily after my home run and forgot the fact that our clean up were never even touch his ball first .

Sakura - ok thank you for your honest and well explained answer . Now the second question . What is the main reason your team hasn't been able to win the ticket for koshien despite their good record. 

Ken -welll it's really a personal question , but I will answer it anyway.  You see  , my teammates there . Some second and all of the 3rd years are national class players and captain yuki is even better . But their problem is that there is hesitation present in their plays always due to lack of confidence.  They will be a very strong team even without me or captain yuki but will never win against strong teams like inashiro,  teito etc those who achievements under their belts in official tournaments.  You see me or yuki senpai are always serious but the lack of achievements can affect the confidence of other teammates . The main reason in sum us that they cannot perform their best like practice in official games against string opponents. 

Sakura - wow , you are thinking very ahead huh ..  Ken.  Well thanks for the honest answers . Look forward to it , I will make sure that an article will be pushed in tomorrows newspaper,  our shin Tokyo newspaper about our small talk  .

Ken - well,  most of the things I said were from coach . Yea I will look forward to it . You are beautiful sakura chan , I will always be ready for a interview if you come to take it personally . ..

I then ignored the blushing sakura and ran away towards my team as I was embarrassed at the cheesy line that I said at the last .
