Chapter 23

Adam's POV:

It's been a week since the charity ball. Eric, Ethan and scarlet are preventing any talk or interaction with me which made me frustrated.

I have been trying to know what and why are they hiding from me. They irritated me like shit.

I decided to go to Ethan's company today under the title of "discussing business" when i called him to inform he tried to get out of it saying that he has a lot of work and meetings to do.

When i entered his office he wasn't there i sat on the chair in front of his desk waiting for him. Finally after an hour he decided to show up. When he entered the room and saw me he got out and slammed the door.

"Shit... what should i do?" Ethan cursed from outside his office. After some minutes he got in with an idiotic smile which made me chuckle at him.

"Come boy come i won't eat you" i said while chuckling.

"Adam i swear i am not ready to tell you anything." Ethan said.

"Ethan it has been a week since the incident and you promised that you will tell me the next day but you didn't. I am not a very good person when it comes to patience and you know that."

"It's not like i don't want to tell you." He sighed.

"So what." I shrugged while shaking my head.
"If she knows that i have told you anything i will break her heart." He said with worry.

"How will she know?" I shrugged as it's obviously i won't tell her that i knew.

"I just don't want to risk anything." He snapped at me with fury.

"Ethan i have to know and you know that because i don't want to put anyone in danger and also the others."

"Yes i am your right hand man so i know well what is dangerous and what isn't on us." He said with anger

"Yeah but i still have to know."

"Okay i will tell you so you would shut up." He said with a sad sigh at the end. I nodded to him.

"So firstly as you know Sarah and i had been having a very abusive childhood and teenager years and after i finally managed to get us out of that shit with your father's help...." cut him.

"My father?" I said with surprise. He nodded.

"But why didn't he tell me? Why didn't you tell me?"

"I told him to not to tell you i didn't want you to get involve in such a thing as i know you are going to punch our step father as if he is a punch bag. And you will end up in jail."

"But man you know that i could get out of anything." He nodded and said. " yes but at that time i didn't know that."

"Anyway my dad won't help without any consequences."

"Yeah he told me about everything and he wanted me to join the mafia."

"That explains why you are in with my knowledge." I said he nodded at me.

"Yeah continue the story."

"Anyway after we managed to run from our step father your father helped us by reporting him and its been a while since they are judging and the final sentence will be next month they are only investigating my sister as she has been abused more then me. That jerk abused her when i am outside the house after our mother's death i have been lost and he got all his anger out on her." He said with anger. I felt that i wanted to kill their psycho step father.

"After we got into the college my sister knew some rich boy he tried to seduce her over a year but at the end he succeeded to be her boyfriend he seemed to be a good boy and i didn't have time to be there for her us the mafia took all my time. So this asshole took it as a chance and he raped her several times though she didn't want to but he kept doing it. She didn't tell me as she thought it's her fault which i don't know why its her fault."

"That son of a bitch i would have killed him if i knew." I said while slamming my fist on his desk with anger.

"Yeah would have killed that shit head if had knew early before she tells him that she was pregnant and that coward run away."

"So did this jerk appeared that day?" I asked and he nodded.

"Why didn't you tell us we would have killed him." I asked with fury.

"I wanted to kill him and skin him alive but his coward escaped." He sighed with sadness.
"So Sarah is Scarlet's daughter."
"Yes she is. That's explains why she was saying that she didn't want him to take her from us."

" if he tried to do anything i will kill him."

"Boy i will make sure before he is died he is skinned alive." Ethan said.

We kept silent for a while everyone in his deep thought then suddenly Eric entered the office with bang.

"Hey buddy." Eric said then looked at me. "What are you doing here Adam?" He asked.

"I came to see my friend what's wrong with that." I said with chuckle.

"Yeah but by that look you both have you don't seem like it was buddies time at all. Did something happened?" Eric asked. Ethan and i looked at each other. Ethan rubbed his face with his palm and i rubbed my nick then looked back at Eric. Eric rose his eyebrow at us then pulled his head to the back.

"Ethan did you tell him?" He asked Ethan but Ethan kept quiet which conforms a yes.
"Offff you told him... if Scarlet knew she will be very angry." He snapped with anger.

"What is it that if Scarlet knew she will be angry?" A confused female voice appeared which made all our heads up except Eric cursed.

"Alex?" Ethan and i said at the same time.

"Tell me now what is going on here? What are you hiding!" She shouted at us which made us all sigh uncontrollably
