Diana rolled over and realized she wasn't in her bed. She sat up immediately and started to freak out. She didn't know where she was or who's house she was in. She ran out of the bedroom and into another room. A man was sitting in a chair. He looked up at her.
"Who are you, and where am I?" she demanded.
"Please sit down," the man said in a thick southern accent. Diana hesitated but sat down anyway. "I'll start. My name is Andrew. This is my home in the country. Two days ago you was screaming for help while I was workin' out in my garden. I grabbed my gun and went to help you. Who's the other person that was chasin' you?"
All of the memories started to flood into her mind. Jason and Trevor and the chase. "I remember now. My name is Diana. The person chasing me is Trevor. He kidnapped me, and I was trying to escape. Thank you for saving me. Where is he?"
"He is down in the storm cellar. Let me get you somethin' to eat before I take you to him." Diana nodded. While Andrew made food, Diana looked at the pictures above the fireplace. He spotted Andrew and another woman next to him. Another showed him and a child playing.
"Andrew, do you live here alone?" Diana asked.
"Oh, no. Those photos need updatin', my kid is actually 20. My wife and kid are in town right now. Her name is Whitney and my son's name is Hunter. She and Hunter helped me and carried you to the spare bedroom while I dealt with Trevor."
"Oh, that's nice." Andrew finished preparing the food. Diana ate it in minutes. She was incredibly hungry and thirsty. "Okay, can you take me to him please?"
"Of course." He grabbed his gun. "Just in case something happens." He led them out the back door and to the cellar. He unlocked the door. Diana looked down and saw Trevor.
"Get up here," Diana demanded. Trevor held his head high and he rose from the pit.
"Well, well, well. Look who's awake and healthy," Trevor said coldly. He looked like he'd been through hell. He had a black eye, cuts on his cheek, and had cracked lips. His arms were full of bruises, his knuckles were red with dried blood, and Diana could see the faded line mark where she had choked him days before. Diana's expression softened. She felt sorry for him.
"Serves you right," she said. She turned to Andrew, "Was this you or Hunter?"
"Actually, Whitney did this. Hunter wanted to, but she got to him first."
Diana laughed, "Good."
"Hah hah, I'm glad my pain humors you," Trevor said blandly. "Was there a reason to go out of your way and come see me?"
"I wanted to make sure you were alive so I could punch you myself, but the job's already done."
"Oh, I thought it was because you still care for me," Trevor added.
"Ugh, you disgust me."
"Ah, so you've discussed me," he said. Diana almost cracked a smile. Trevor smiled.
"What is this? Nevermind, just get back in there." Andrew said.
"Until we meet again," Trevor said as he walked into the cellar.
Andrew locked it and Diana said, "What are we going to do with him?"
"Let's wait until everyone else gets back. But you can't leave yet, not until we know what to do."
Diana walked inside the house and asked, "Andrew do you have a phone I can use?"
"I'm sorry, not at this moment. It broke. That's why Whitney and Hunter went into town."
