Trevor threw the ball in the air over Calvin's head and into the hoop. "That makes 10 points for me at 4 for you. Wanna play again or switch and Carter plays with me."
"No, I'm done. You're clearly better than both of us combined, and we're younger than you. How?" Calvin asked panting.
"My young friend, I played on my high school basketball team for 3 years. I pick up a thing or two. If you keep playing, learning, and practicing, you'll be like me too," Trevor said.
"Yeah, but how are you so fast?" Carter added. "It's like you're the Flash or something."
"I did track too."
"Is there anything you can't do?"
"Yeah," Trevor said, and looked back into the house. "Fishing. I can catch the fish, but they always get away."
"Oh, well I can teach you how to keep the fish on the line," Carter started.
Calvin hit him in the gut, "Not that kind of fishing you idiot. He means Diana."
"I don't understand," Carter said innocently.
"Yeah, because you're too young to know what love is."
"I do too, I'm 15."
"Not this kind of love kiddo," Trevor butted in. "But nevermind that. Whatcha what to show me next?"
"How about the fridge? I'm hungry." Carter said.
"You always are," Calvin snapped.
"Whatever."
They walked back into the house. Diana and Penny were still sitting on the couch talking. "You two good?"
"Yep, just finished," Diana said.
"Hey, since it's time for lunch, does anyone want Egg Salad sandwiches?" Penny asked.
The younger boys stopped dead in their tracks, "Yes! They're the best in the entire universe."
Penny laughed, "Okay, but you guys still have to help me."
"Um, Aunt Penny, while you're making sandwiches, can we borrow your phone?" Diana asked.
"Yes of course hon," she said and handed the phone to Diana.
Trevor and Diana walked outside and sat in the gazebo. "Okay, who do we call first?" Trevor asked.
"I'm going to call my father, then Kate, and finally Jason. Gotta save the best for last."
Diana dialed her dad's number and placed it on the speaker. It rang twice then he picked up, "Hey, what's up?"
"Um hey Dad, it's Diana."
"Diana, are you okay, can you talk? Are you being held hostage? Who took you? Can you give me your location? Wait, you're calling from Penny's phone. Are you okay? I'm coming to get you. Tell me who did this and I'll track down the idiot who did this to you. I've been worried sick."
"Whoa whoa whoa. Slow down. I can speak, but only if you don't bombard me with questions. I'm okay, I'm at Aunt Penny's house. I'm not being held hostage, and the person who kidnapped me is gone. It's okay, you can be calm?"
"Oh, that's great news. Can I come to see you?"
"No, not yet. There is some unfinished business I have to attend but in two or three days."
"Okay honey. I love you. I'm so glad you're okay."
"Love you too dad, bye." And she hung up the phone.
