HAD TO ADD THIS LOVELY FANART OF TOKI BY DoodlznNoodlz / Aspen! Check out his stuff, it's great!S- It wasn't long before John pulled back up into the base and stepped out of the vehicle. He glanced at the nearest group of soldiers scrambling around.
"Soldier....who's the ranking officer in the base at the moment....I have a situation report to make", John said.
Jarrod raised an eyebrow for a moment at Tokihiro before shrugging."That's war Tokihiro.....by the end of it we'll all deserve it.....I suppose rarely war can bring out the best in people, but realistically in typically brings out the worst.....people here are either mourning or angry or scared or a mix of the three", Jarrod said.
Jarrod then turned his attention back to the Captain and nodded."Alright then thank you for getting me to base as soon as possible Captain ", Jarrod said turning his attention briefly to the water around the boat.
He had been caught up in the excitement, the sheer fight for survival, but now that he had a moment to catch his mind up with his body the reality of going to war again sunk in. How the hell was he going to tell his sister he was going off to war again. There had been plenty of close calls in the Great War and now he had to jump right back into a major global conflict. He supposed in a way he was at least much more prepared for it now. Ever since the great war ended John had never stopped training him and his skills had certainly improved a great deal. But that was according to the combat he used to know. Now the germans had unmanned machines and god knows what else that Von Bismarck character had cooked up in the German Arsenal. Not even including these Japanese Yokai that seemed just as varied as western vampires. He had prepared for the game so to speak, but did that really count for much when the game was constantly changing. Jarrod decided not to dwell on it for too long all it would do was get his nerves up.
Z- "That would be General Short, he should be in his office, it's that building over there." The man motions to a building, not hit by bombs, but riddled with bullet holes.
Tokihiro nods, looking off as well. "Yes, I suppose that's the way of these things."
the small boat pulls up to a dock at the base John and co had returned to, the crew hopping out to tie the boat up, tossing a small bridge between the two to assist someone not as adapted to their line of work. The captain of it sends a message to the bases' hq, alerting those in command to their arrival.
S- John looked towards the building before nodding at the soldier and continuing on his way towards the building. Upon entering he made his way directly to where General Short's office was. Frankly he found it fairly lucky that a general survived the attack at all. Going for command buildings would likely have been a priority target for the Japanese it was fortunate this one was spared.
"General Short sir.....Lieutenant John Fawkes reporting in sir....the attack has been successfully repelled.....I imagine this makes where the US and Japan stand with one another quite clear now", John said giving a salute.
"Yes unfortunately it is.....well the most we.....hell anyone can do is try and survive.....there's nothing else to be gained from war unless your one of the powers that be", Jarrod said.As the boat pulled up Jarrod disembarked before leading Tokihiro over to a group of approaching soldiers.
"I believe this man will be needed for questioning.....he's been very forthcoming with information so far so he is not to be harmed or mistreated in any way soldiers that's an order.....get the man where he needs to be and give him something eat and drink....now on your way", Jarrod said giving a nod to Tokihiro and then turning towards the command building.
