So here's the new story, and the new character is... Merlyn Temple from American Gothic! I found the complete series of it at my local record store and I've been watching it with my mom. And I love Merlyn to death. She's so adorable. 🥺❤ I hope you all like this! And I will be making a part two! ❤

It was Sunday afternoon, and me, Delia, and Billie were at the park, taking a walk. We stood underneath a tree and talked for a while, when all of a sudden, a ball flies out of nowhere and hits me in the chest, knocking me to the floor. "Sweetheart, are you alright?!" Delia yells out, crouching down to me and checking to make sure I'm okay. "Y-yeah... I'm fine. What the hell hit me?" As the girls are helping me back up, we hear a soft voice yelling out behind us. "Oh my gosh, I am so sorry! Are you okay?" The girls turn around and I look up to see a young girl with curly brown hair, wearing a flannel shirt with a white t-shirt and jeans. She runs up to us and crouches down in front of me. "Are you okay? I'm so sorry, I didn't see you." I nod and sit up, as Billie brushes the dirt and grass off my back. "Yeah, I'm fine. And it's alright, don't worry." I stand up and she sticks her hand out in front of me.

"I'm Merlyn, Merlyn Temple." I take her hand and say, "I'm Rhiannon. And these are my moms, Cordelia and Billie Dean." They both say hi to Merlyn, and she says hi back. "Are you sure you're okay?" "Yeah, I'm totally fine, don't worry." As we're talking, we hear a voice behind her. "Merly! Merly, where are you?" Then we see a little boy appear from the bushes. "There you are, Merly. I was wonderin' where you went." "Caleb, this is Rhiannon, Rhiannon, this is my little brother, Caleb." We shake hands and say hello to each other. "Would you like to play with us? We was gon' play tag." I look up at Delia and Billie and ask if it's okay. "Just be careful, alright, darling?" I nod and give them both a hug before going off with Merlyn and Caleb. "Your mother's are awfully nice. How long have they been together?" Merlyn asks me. "Oh, they're not together. They both raise me with two other women. But none of them are together. I know that must seem kinda strange..."

"Oh no, that doesn't seem strange at all. You must get an awful lot of motherly love." She laughs, making me chuckle. "Oh, you don't know the half of it." I reply, and we both start to laugh. Then Caleb touches my shoulder and says, "You're it!" before taking off running. We both laugh and take off after him, then I turn around and touch Merlyn's shoulder and say she's it. Then I catch up with Caleb and we both hide in a bush, hoping Merlyn doesn't find us. "Oh Caleb... where are you?" Me and Caleb both cover each other's mouths, trying not to make a sound. We see her walk in front of the bush and put her hands on her hips, looking in front of her and behind her. "Come out, come out, wherever you are..." she starts walking toward us, and we start slowly backing up as quietly as we can, and we take off running. "Hey! Get back here!"

She runs after us, and she manages to grab the sleeve of my shirt and yells out, "You're it!" Then she takes off running with Caleb. "Merlyn? Caleb?" I call out their names, trying to look for them for the past five minutes. Then all at once, I see them pop out of the bush next to me and tackle me to the floor. "Got 'cha!" They pin me to the floor, and we all start laughing. They both stand up and Merlyn sticks her hand out for me to take. I take her hand and stand up. "You want an ice cream? My treat." I smile and nod and say, "Sure. You don't have to buy me one, though." She grabs my arm softly and says, "I don't mind. I don't mind one bit." We walk up to the ice cream man and she buys three ice creams. She hands me one and gives the other to Caleb. "Thanks, Merly." "Yeah, thanks, Merlyn." She links her arm with mine and says, "No problem, Rhi. Hope you don't mind me callin' you that."

"No, I don't mind one bit. My mom's call me that sometimes." We walk back to Billie and Delia, and I can see the girls smiling softly, seeing me and Merlyn already becoming close. "Did you girls have fun?" We both nod and sit down on the ground next to the girls. We talk for a while before Delia says we need to get going. "It was really nice to meet you, Merlyn. And you too, Caleb." "It was really nice to meet you too, Rhiannon. C'mon, Merly, let's get home." She nods and takes her phone out and hands it to me. "Hey, do you mind giving me your number? I'd really like to hang out again sometime." "Sure. I had a lot of fun with you guys..." I take out my phone and give her my phone and we exchange numbers then hand each other back our phones. "So I'll text you soon then. Sound good?" I nod and grin at her. "Sounds great." She suddenly wraps her arm around my neck and gives me a hug.

I wrap my arms around her waist and hug her back. "I'll see you later. Bye!" Then she walks off with Caleb, and I run back to Delia and Billie. "Did you have fun, babygirl?" I nod and take Billie's hand. "Yeah, I did. Her and her brother are really nice." "She seems awfully sweet. Now how about we get home and watch a movie?" I grin and nod, and Billie wraps her arm around my waist. "Sounds perfect..." later that night, after dinner, I was in my room, watching TV, when I hear my phone hum. I look at my phone and see an unknown number messaging me. I click on the message and see that it's from Merlyn.

Unknown Number: Hey, it's merlyn. Just thought I'd message you. I had a lot of fun with you today 😊

I smile softly to myself and message her back.

Me: Hey! I had a lot of fun with you too. I totally forgot to tell you, but I really liked you and your brother's accents. Where are you guys from?

Merlyn: Awww thanks! 🥰 We're from South Carolina

Me: Oh cool! I'd love to visit sometime.

We talk for quite a while until Delia comes in and says it's time to start getting ready for bed. "Okay, I'll be ready in a few minutes."

Me: Hey, unfortunately, I have to get ready for bed. But we can talk more when I wake up, if that's okay.

Merlyn: That's okay! I need to get to bed as well. See you tomorrow!

Me: Night! Sleep well! 😊

Soon, I get in bed and fall asleep with a smile on my face, excited to talk to Merlyn some more.
