Evelyn's POV

We both went downstairs hand in hand. My parents were at the dining table. My mom had this smirk plastered on her face. My dad was looking a bit uncomfortable. I guess she told him. I and Luke were sitting opposite to my parents. We all were having spaghetti with meatballs for dinner. It was awfully quiet tonight. And Luke decided to break the silence.

"This is really delicious, Mrs Jacob."

"Oh, Thank You dear and please call me Martha." My mom said giggling like a teenage girl.

"So, Luke, Are you staying over tonight?" My dad asked out of blue.

"No, I don't think so sir." Luke replied doubtful.

"Why don't you stay, Luke? It's late anyways. Why to disturb your parents in the late night?"

MY MOM TOLD HIM TO STAY??? What is she planning on?

I too want Luke to stay. He is my only escape. I forgot about the nightmare because he distracts me. And distraction is what I need after what has happened today.

Luke looked at me and then at my dad. But my dad was busy concentrating on his food, which is unusual. My mom nudged my dad to tell something.

"What, Martha?" My dad hissed.

God... can my parents be more embarrassing? My parents were having some telepathic conversation after which my dad told Luke to stay over and that he will inform Luke's parents.

When the dinner was over, Luke offered to help with the dishes but my mom didn't allow. He went to sit on the couch in the living room where my dad was there. Bad move Luke. I could hear my dad talking to Luke about keeping his hands to himself. I couldn't help but laugh. I was cleaning the dishes in the Kitchen with my mother.

"Luke is a good boy." I heard my mom say.

"Yeah, he is. He is sweet and caring." I said blushing.

"That boy really likes you, if not he wouldn't be sitting there and hearing to your father's death threats." She said in a 'matter of fact' tone. I looked at him and let out a small giggle.

"Well, I have never talked to you about this before because I never had an opportunity. But after today, it's my duty to 'talk' to you. Are you two being safe?" My mom asked me abruptly.

My eyes widened. "MOM!!" I am sure you couldn't have said the difference between my face and a tomato at that moment. "I..... Uhh..... We.....not..... We haven't done it mom."

"What?? You have been together for a pretty long time." She said in disbelief.

"I want to wait and he supports my decision."

"Boys won't wait too long for a single cookie when they can get variety of them." Is it my mom who said that?

"Seriously, mom?? Cookie?? I can't believe you." I said finishing the dishes. "I am out of here. I have to save Luke from dad's death threats. Goodnight mom. Love you." I kissed her cheeks. I left immediately.

"Love you too, Hun. And be safe." I rolled my eyes.

I went to the living room, And Luke stood up seeing me. "Dad, I am going to bed. Goodnight. Love you." I kissed his cheek and took Luke's hand. "Remember what we talked about, son." He said Luke. "Yes sir" Luke replied politely. Before my father could tell him anything I pulled Luke and moved out of the room as fast as I could with Luke hot on my heels.

I am so tired; I had a very long day today. I don't think I could keep my eyes open for a minute more. I was lying on the bed, taking my own space, waiting for Luke. Luke changed to his bedroom attire, sweatpants and not- shirt. Don't ask how I have his sweatpants. Forgot? We have sleepovers. We all have a set of our clothes at each other houses.
