Bottled Beings

You look at me with a fading glimmer

And I look at myself in your misty eyes

You're expression is so morose, so sad

And I understand why,

'Cause it's the same as mine

Let's take a break, we hush to each other

So we hop into our little car shakily

And take the high road of survival in this world of tragedies

'Cause let's face it,

Everything isn't as great as it used to be

Riding on the highway, I realize we're riding to our end

It's okay, I hum to my mind, again and again,

It's something that's unwanted

But so needed

There's really nothing against for us to defend

Spending and ending all our moments at a time

We try to cherish what we have left of us

But there's always

That little foreboding

Of how it's all going to come out dangerous

I press the brakes of the car as it caresses the sand

The two of us walk out with bare feet

They soak in the warmth

To melt the hearts of useless anger

And slowly stride all the way to the sea

As each wave falls and ends its story

I decide it's time for me to speak up and end ours too

There's no villains, no victims

Just two clashing souls

Inadequate to get together and through

You listen to me, silently agreeing with my words

Because they're the same in your mind

I give it a finish,

You squeeze my hand

And stroke my hair for one last time

You say you'll let the sea calm you

So I leave you there and drive back home

Hitting the road

I try remembering

Whatever it was that went wrong

And I realize we wrote our secrets on one another

And put them in bottles left into the ocean

Then we drifted

Farther away from each other

Until there was no medium left for a discussion

I let a sigh escape along with my tears

Praying for both of us to drift into islands inhabited

Maybe close,

Maybe distant,

But nevertheless with new stories gifted.
