"She said what?" Harry yelled after almost choking on his eggs and bacon
"Well Pansy is mad, but she must know that you would never fall for that" Hermione added angrily
"Well maybe I should", I started slowly, "you know... be friends with her"
"ARE YOU MAD, WHY WOULD YOU POSSIBLY WANT TO DO THAT" Hermione shouted
"Well she could be useful you know" I said
"How so?" Harry asked
"Well she could give us some information or at least some insight in what Slytherins are thinking.... or doing" I added
"Yeah insight on ideas that could get us killed or worse expelled" Hermione shouted
"After all these years she still hasn't put her priorities straight" Harry whispered under his breath
Harry and I started laughing while Hermione was giving us the death stare.
"Well we don't need Pansy for that, we have you" Hermione interrupted our laughing
"No Hermione we don't, I told you already I'm a total stranger in that house. I know nothing about any of them." I said
"She's right Hermione, it could be a good idea." Harry added
"It's not forever just for a little while, I promise"

We had exams almost the whole day and as we don't have much classes together we didn't really get to see each other until after dinner. But that wasn't a huge issue in this particular case because we made a plan for me to get closer to Pansy. Now because Pansy and I are both Slytherins we had most classes together, so it wasn't a huge challenge to get close to her.

"Hey Syd, do you want to go shopping with us", Pansy said while we were sitting on our beds, writing letters to our families
"Shopping for what?" I asked with the nicest tone that has ever come out of my mouth
"Well the Doomspell Tournament is only a few weeks away" she hissed through her teeteh while aggressively smiling towards me.
"I know but we have nothing to do with that"
"Of course we do dummy, there will be a traditional ball before the tournament" she said and then continued "we need dresses".
She invited the rest of her friend group to our room. She was surprisingly popular but mostly between Slytherins. We were talking all night and her friends actually started to like me. One of them almost spilled details about some illegal things that they were planning but Pansy shut them up before they could say more.
We went to London the very next day. It was Saturday so we were allowed to. We went through like a thousand shops. I found a dress that I really liked. It was a skintight black shiny dress with spaghetti straps. Top of the dress was loosed and layered. I bought the dress just because it was the best option and also because I wanted to go back because I was exhausted.

Over the last few weeks as I was spending more time with Pansy and her crew I was also spending less time with Hermione and Harry. But they didn't mind because Pansy turned out to be more useful than what we thought. She spilled details about Draco and other boys plans to get Harry into trouble, but we were able to stop every single one of them thanks to Pansy. But she had no clue what was going on. Our friendship was a total joke. Everyone knew it, even she did.
