The group arrived at their destination shortly after heading into the portal. Lunala descended and the team slid off of its back.
Elio marveled at the storms that were swirling in the skies above them as they walked through the mysterious rocky fields.
"What is this place?" Elio asked.
Phyco peered around a corner and lead the group further down the path. "It's an alternate reality in which humans went extinct some time ago. A powerful Pokémon resides here. I hope that we do not encounter it."
The group came to a stop in a more open part of the field to find a bag lying on the ground. Phyco inspected the bag and took out a Beast Ball inside of it. "Oh, dear..."
"What is it?" Selene asked him.
Phyco looked back at the rest of the group. "This is a Pokémon I gave to Luna after she defeated Ultra Necrozma. This bag is hers."
"So where is she?" Selene demanded.
"I do not know," Phyco replied. "But I fear the worst may have happened." He pressed the button on the Beast Ball and it opened up.
A small purple creature appeared before them. It had blue eyes and a needle sticking out of its head. It looked around at the group and slowly backed away.
Phyco did his rigid wave and got the Pokémon's attention. "Poipole, it's me, Phyco." Poipole seemed to recognize the man and calmed down. "Do you know what happened to Luna?"
Elio watched the Pokémon look around and suddenly become distressed. "Poor Pokémon. I don't think it knows what's going on at all." Selene said.
Poipole brightened upon seeing her and floated over to the trainer. "Oh... oh I'm sorry Poipole. I'm not your trainer." Selene explained.
Elio felt bad for the Pokémon before but when it heard this and he saw its face sink he felt even worse for the Pokémon.
Phyco started scanning the surroundings and furrowed his brow. "I'm picking up that Luna was here but it's not telling me where she went. It's as if she vanished entirely."
Zossie gasped and Elio looked up to see a steam humanoid descend from the sky. Rotom burst out of Selene's bag and scanned it. "That's a Mewtwo! This is way not tubular dudes! We gotta book it!"
"Lunala! Come here!" Phyco called as the Mewtwo landed on the ground. Elio could practically feel the Pokémon's power.
A pink ball began to charge in its hands as Lunala flew over. Mewtwo looked up at Lunala and launched the projectile. The blast stuck Lunala's wing and it crashed onto the ground.
"Lunala!" Phyco shouted.
Zosssie pointed at Mewtwo. "Guys! It's charging another attack!" Elio turned his head again to see a series of purple balls surrounding Mewtwo. "If that hits Lunala it could be really bad!"
"It won't then!" Elio decided. He wasted no time grabbing Primarina's Poké Ball and sending out his starter Pokémon.
The mermaid landed on the ground and looked back at Elio. "Moonblast! Quickly!" Primarina charged a white ball in between its hands and tossed it into Mewtwo.
The attack blindsided their foe and its Shadow Balls faded. "That's what I'm talking about!" Elio cheered. But he soon saw Mewtwo back up and facing down his Primarina.
Phyco knelt down by Lunala's side. "Lunala is injured! I need time to help it recover before we can leave!"
Mewtwo picked up Primarina with some sort of invisible force and Elio watched his Pokémon struggle in the Legendary Opponent's grasp. "Primarina! Use Sparkling Aria!"
