The pack of wild animals left the restaurant, finally giving Jimin and Hoseok a chance to settle down in their chairs, heaving heavily as they fanned themselves with a stack of napkins. "Today was horrible," Jimin moaned, throwing his head back so his hair flipped over and revealed his sweat forehead. He used his hand to use a napkin to wipe it down, soaking up the thin sheet. Hoseok laughed, handing him some of his own after seeing Jimin run low on tissues. "These people are like dogs," Jimin whined. "Or they treat us like dogs, I don't know. They'd be the ones barking, but treat us like we're the obedient dogs."
"Relax, we can go home now," Hoseok helped him up. "Plus we'll have durable ac, so look forward to that." Jinsoul came around the counter, handing them mini fans.
"Stupid air conditioning is down so you're being let out early," she told them. "Sorry for always overworking you guys. You're some of our best servers."
"Don't worry about it J-soul," Jimin smiled. They waved goodbye and head out, the heat throwing them off balance. "We should've gotten water before coming out in the heat like dumbasses." Hoseok ran back in to get a bottle of water while Jimin soaked up the melanin radiating from the sun into his own glowy skin.
"Here," Hoseok handed him a bottle. "I'm gonna start up the car, wait here." Jimin opened the bottle, watching Hoseok turn the car on for the leather seats to cool down before they were able to peacefully settle inside.
"Wonder what Yoongi's up to," Jimin buckled his seat belt. "Maybe making some more music." Hoseok nodded, agreeing.
"He's been getting more attention," He added. "No ones recognized him yet, but he has a ton of views." Jimin shrugged, proud of friend accomplishing his long term dreams. "Aux?"
"My phone's dead," Jimin held it up, showing the battery gone. Instead, he turned on the radio, sitting back in his seat as Hoseok drove, listening to the podcast currently playing. He rummaged through the channels, slowly getting bored from the constant talking.
"Hey Jimin?" Hoseok called. Jimin sat upright in his seat, turning the radio's volume up.
"Yoongi..." he looked down at the channel.
"What?" Hoseok tried to pay attention to both the shocked Jimin beside him and the road.
"C-Call Yoongi!" Jimin reached over Hoseok to grab his phone. "Password? Your password?"
"Hey- chill dumbass, I'm driving!" Hoseok was still confused. "It's Yoongi's birthday..." Jimin entered the code, calling Yoongi.
"Hello?"
"YOONGI!" Jimin yelled into the phone. "They're... They're playing the song. YOUR song. Right now! Radio, on the radio!"
"Jimin, slow down," Yoongi said, not comprehending his rambling. "I can't understand you well. Speak clearly."
"They're playing your song on the radio!" Jimin screamed into the phone in complete joy. "Listen!" He put his phone by the speaker, turning up the volume and Yoongi's voice filled up their ears. Hoseok's mouth fell open, his hands dropping to his side as he stopped at the red light to pay attention closer to Yoongi. He slowly began to understand that he was on the radio, a squeal of happiness leaving his mouth as he looked down at the channel's name.
"I can't believe it," Hoseok smiled. "Yoongi's on the radio!" Jimin shushed him, trying to remember the moment in detail.
Hoseok pulled up to the house, Jimin running out of the car to go talk to Yoongi in person. He was waiting for them upstairs, pacing back and forth with patience, but also impatience. "Yoongi!!!" Jimin jumped onto him, both of them falling onto the hard ground. "You were on the radio!!" Hoseok grinned at the two.
"Congrats suga," Hoseok congratulated him. Yoongi got up with Jimin's help, moving over to hug Hoseok. "I love you, Yoongi," Hoseok whispered into his ear, rubbing his back.
"I love you more," Yoongi smiled. "Also, I forgot to tell you, but I decided to make my stage name Suga! All inspo goes to Hoseok, my hope."
"It suits you," Hoseok giggled.
"This calls for a celebration!" Jimin yelled, already holding two bottles of soju in his hand.
~~~~~
By night, Hoseok was the only one awake. The other two had such great tolerance, but tonight they had overestimated themselves and passed out after drinking over 7 bottles. Each. The two lay on the couches where Hoseok had dragged them for them to comfortably sleep. He himself lay in the middle of the floor on the carpet, looking up at the ceiling with a half empty bottle of soju in his hand. Yoongi's snoring and Jimin's soft breathing comforted him, the feeling of happiness seeping into his head. He smiled, lifting his head to take another sip of the soju in his hand.
"I love you both so much," Hoseok spoke to the dead silence. "I'm so grateful... can't even find the right words to explain my feelings." Hoseok got up, sitting with his legs crossed, back turned to the two of them. "Ever since we've met, you've always made me really... happy and never once in my life have I felt so involved. You made me feel like I'm something worth living for, and then you slowly became my reasons for living... but right now." He paused, taking in a deep breath. "Right now... I don't feel that happiness. The same content I felt when I met you guys, that spark, it's gone."
Hoseok's eyes welled up, his sniffling echoing in the room. "I want to be happy, I want you both to be happy, but I can't give that to you, can I?" Hoseok wiped his tears away.
"Sometimes I wonder if you guys are soulmates and I'm just an obstacle standing in between," he went on. "Maybe I've just been so blind about it until now, seeing how well you bond and how long you've known each other... the way you look and talk to each other with so much love and care in the world. I'm like a 3rd wheel." Hoseok chuckled dryly, clearing his throat and taking another sip of his soju. "I'm also like this stupid ass bottle," Hoseok held it up. "Empty and shattered." And he threw it against the wall.
Funny thing about it was, no one woke up.
Hoseok turned around to face them, expecting them to be wide awake in shock at the broken bottle shattered on the floor, creating a large dent. Instead, he saw both of them sleeping soundly. "I still love you guys," Hoseok smiled at them, subtle sadness visible in the smile.
"But do you love me?"
