Chapter 4: Descent to one's Maker

The journey to the mission's goal had become for the group, to find a Sharacite shard and return to Planeptune. Cress, Makoto, Olson and Tenma, with Nepgear, journey in the Saturn caverns. Each was testing the powers of their new abilities...and finding the difficulty with using them. Cress - as per normal - was swinging his sword strongly smashing things out of his way...but where mobility was concerned "Ahhh...ahhh...it feels like...I'm carrying a metal suit of armour, that tomboy weren't kidding...but this is still no problem for me" Makoto found her agility remaining but her sense of power lacking

"I might be...faster but I can't seem to hit too hard and...ahhh...I'm already wearing myself out. Before in the facility I felt like I go for miles now...ahhh...its not as easy as I thought" as for Olson his was a bit more of a comedic problem. He stayed far away from any of the monsters, aiming at them with his sniper rifle but found his aim not too accurate

"Come on...come on...hold still" doggo slimes, little slime monsters with dog like ears and noses, were just bouncing around not making his shots easy "It was so easy...before...thankfully my gun has infinite energy bullets" as for Tenma and Nepgear, while their results weren't too stellar it was going smoother.

They were fighting a strange humanoid monster called Strange-Men.  It had the appearance of a spindly old man, with noodle legs and a poorly drawn face floating in a UFO like ring around their torso's. Tenma, enveloped in his power, fought back the monsters that fired lasers from their faces or charged him with powered kicks. He dodged under one, to block another to then take a blow from one that charged, staggering back "Ahhh...easy there, right then...ahhh" he this time caught a kick, swung the monster into the wall and generated a small purple ball of power "Violet Palm!" and thrusting it, defeated it into dust.

Nepgear herself was squaring off against two of them, using her sabre to deflect and block. Tenma ran over to her fight, cleaving through one but was knocked back nearly by the 2nd "Hang in there Nepgear...don't give in!" called Tenma strongly with Nepgear managing to hold her ground and then charging in 

"Formula Edge!" her blade glowed and she did a series of twirls, connecting with light slashes before finishing with a broad one, slaying it to dust "Whoa...I did it, I..." she nearly fell to her knees

"Easy, easy...but not bad there" he said to her, Nepgear panting "These monsters seem to be the right level for us. They're easy, but not pushover easy, so its a good workout for us both" 

"It seems so, thank you for your support back there though. I feel...a bit more encouraged with you backing me up like this" her comment made Tenma blush as he itched his head

"I'm just doing...what I can" he said breathing out and tensing his hands "right then let's keep going" he said looking on to find a large pack of Dogoo slimes "Oh perfect, let's take on these Dogoo's. They're weak but it'll be a good warm-up for us, since even if they hit it won't even hurt" 

"Oh okay then I'm right behind you" 

Watched secretly, a girl with orange hair and red hairs, stuck to the rock ceiling, watching the pair fight the pack of about 15 blue Dogoo's "Right now...Nepgear and Tenma are about nearing halfway" she said on a speaking device "They're fighting a large army of blue Dogoo's"

"No worries there" said IF on the other end "They hurt about as much as foam pillows, what's they're conditions like?"

"Tenma has been employing the Purple Power the whole time since he entered the cavern. He's been maintaining good control, a bit cautious in power output as if he first testing the limits of what he can do. As for Nepgear..." as Nepgear was batted about, Tenma came to her side, giving her calm advice on defence and confidence boosting remarks "It seems she's been helped along. She's been showing some nice improvement, while nothing stellar she seems capable of normal combat to a degree"
