I bit my lip to stop myself from laughing when I heard the chanting of "No Dick Medici" all over the halls the next day. Maverick shot a death glare towards Keisha and I, whispering something to Taj.

"I have to go," Keisha sighed. "Taj is threatening to ruin my parents' fantasy of me finding my prince if I don't apologize publicly for going against Maverick with you."

"What happened to the Keisha that I know?" I questioned her with a look of dismay. "You don't usually give up that easily."

"I know, but...it's rare to see my parents so happy after some property owner decided to start some kind of legal action against my parents' restaurant lately. They don't just like the fact that Taj is rich. They think that he will be a supportive husband to me someday, seeing how he chose to put up the fakest act of being perfect in front of them."

"I was almost fooled when Taj helped us out at the party that time," I admitted.

"Trust me, he's always on Maverick's side when it comes to stuff like this," Keisha grumbled. "But there is no way that I will actually apologize genuinely. Not when he kept making you clean his room for months now."

"I don't know," I frowned. "Maverick warned us that we wouldn't get away with this."

Except that I had a feeling that my life was about to be over when I saw the boy approach us with Taj.

"You two are going to go to Sasha's party. Maverick and I discussed this, and we think it is only fair after you two engendered the "No Dick Medici" hashtag to trend on social media," Taj announced calmly.

However, Maverick looked anything but calm. The stormy gaze in his eyes told me that he had already reached his breaking point.

"It won't be just that. The two of you will admit to everyone at the party that you just started the rumor since you guys were jealous of my wealth and status," Maverick smirked. "It will be while standing on my cousin's most expensive dining table. Good luck with her wrath as well."

We had basically just been sucked into this endless web of torment by pulling a harmless prank on Maverick. This had to be the worst. Sasha was sure to try to end us if we even got far from rich peoples' shoes on her family's most expensive dining table.

"How much does it cost?" I asked timidly.

"Three million dollars. It is made of crystals. Congrats. I hoped you both felt like you lived enough of a happy life already while going against some of the most powerful people in the world because everything else was just the beginning," Maverick revealed.

I sighed in apprehension. At that moment, I saw none other than Sasha sashay over to us with her hands on her hips, flipping her golden blonde hair over her shoulder. Of course, her makeup and outfit were far from out of place.

"You losers will not get an invitation to my party since you are not 1: Hot enough, 2: Rich enough, 3: Popular enough, and 4: Powerful enough to be invited. Ciao, geeks!" Sasha laughed cruelly.

I saw Janiah Smith and Haley Jung laughing alongside her, taking pictures of us and commenting about how our outfits looked weird compared to theirs. I looked down at my polo shirt tucked under my sweater and my checked skirt. I didn't think it looked that bad. But looking at their expensive skin tight dresses, perfect hair, and fancy heels, I suddenly felt self-conscious.

Although Haley, like me, was Korean-American, she was considered more richer and popular than me due to her father being some rich billionaire businessman that invested in restaurants. It was clear that someone like her lived a different life than me. Janiah, whose parents were both African-American, was born to a mother that ran a successful makeup brand as good as Kylie Jenner's and a father ran jewelry business companies as well-known as Tiffany and Co.
