The following week, Keisha was all smiles. She clearly had good news.

"Hunter is permanently benched for this football season as a punishment. Haley is also benched from cheerleading practice. They are fuming! The funny thing is how this Giorgia girl seems to have an uncanny resemblance to me. Well, minus the fact that she has blue eyes. The fact that she could wear contacts and a wig and act like me was completely creepy," Keisha continued to ramble on.

I smiled. My awesome best friend was back.

"So, you were telling me about how you were jealous of Giorgia? Girl, she has been getting turned down by Maverick for years. He already said that she wasn't her type. Plus, if he actually liked her, he wouldn't have been trying to take her down," Keisha assured me.

"Alright..." I finally responded. "But the thing is, Maverick was trying to take me down this entire time himself. He said that he despised me. And he is still as elusive as ever, rarely speaking to me unless he needs an accomplice. He claimed that we are allies, but I think I'm just...not relevant to his life. At all."

"Girl, stop overthinking. Just enjoy making excuses to spend time with him and talking to him during your maid duty. Plus, think of the bright side. He's still being nicer than before, even if he is lashing out sometimes due to his bipolar disorder. I've told you this multiple times already," Keisha chuckled.

"You are more positive than usual. Is something up?" I asked her. "I mean, you already knew Hunter, Haley, and Giorgia would get exposed. That was already a given, considering how brutal Taj and Maverick can be."

"Well...I do have something–nevermind. I have to get my textbook for our Design class. I think I left it there. See you later!" Keisha exclaimed.

She was practically skipping down the halls. I looked around and looked out the window, noticing that Maverick was by the entrance of the Creek Engineering building. To my surprise, Taj wasn't with him. That was odd. Usually, Taj waited for Maverick to walk out of the building so that they could hang out. I noticed that since I basically took note of Maverick's whereabouts and was always highly alert when it came to him.

I remembered what Keisha said and decided to walk over to Maverick. Besides, asking him where Taj was would probably be a good excuse to talk to him. After all, Taj was an ally...mostly.

"People are still asking around if the "No Dick Medici" rumor is true. The hell with it. I think I happen to know that my–" Maverick began, but I cut him off.

"That's the first thing you have to say in the morning? Seriously?" I widened my eyes in incredulousness.

"Hey, you and Keisha started the rumor. Some people still don't seem to believe that you guys apologized for the sake of making up lies. Doesn't matter though since I think something is up," Maverick frowned.

"You think that is embarrassing? At least most people know that it was something we made up and not something that is actually true. My shocked and embarrassed reaction of me getting humiliated by Cato and Sasha in public is still being shared on Gossip Con till this day," I sighed.

"Speaking of that, you don't have to actually be upset. Any guy who chooses to go for my cousin is usually a douchebag looking for a mean bitch," Maverick shrugged.

"I think I know that now. I found it odd how no one mentioned Cato actually hooking up with anyone for years. At least the truth has been revealed," I sighed. "Liam was angered at Sasha and Cato when he heard about what happened. He was threatening to beat them up. He doesn't care if Sasha is a girl. To him, there are no exceptions when someone keeps tormenting his "baby" sister."
