I remembered thinking that the war hadn't begun. But when I realized that Sasha, Hunter, and Taj all transferred into the now formerly unpopular Drama class, I knew that there was trouble. They were forming their own group and reenacting The Princess and The Frog. I wasn't surprised to see that Hunter was the frog prince and Sasha was the princess, while Taj chose to be a side character.
I also wasn't surprised to notice that Maverick had finished typing something on his laptop. I widened my eyes in horror when I saw that he had been tampering with firewalls within this campus.
"I'm done now, Maid Girl. You'll suffer, now that your worst nightmares are in the one class you're worried about failing because of me," Maverick whispered into my ear, sounding just like my worst nightmare.
It might have seemed like Maverick was telling me a secret or just speaking quietly. But that was far from the case. He ensured I would clean his combat boots again. My jaw dropped when he requested me to clean them again.
"Close your mouth before people think you're asking me for something else," he threatened me. "Being on your knees while you clean my shoes doesn't exactly dispel that notion."
I flushed when I realized his implication. I tossed the towel in his direction, scowling. Just how much damn dirt biking did he do in his free time? Then again, maybe it was a cover-up for a murder spree. Who knew?
Maverick easily caught the towel, raising a brow. "Today, you're going to be wearing the first maid costume that you saw yesterday night when I showed you the options. I have it in my bag."
I gave him a look of horror. "No way. Anything but that."
"If you don't, I'll tell people that you're an actual maid for me because you're poor. They'll assume that's why you're not trying to wear the outfit and make up more rumors," he warned me.
Begrudgingly, I went to the nearby bathroom after informing Professor Langston. I gaped at the outfit in the mirror after I wore it. The maid outfit showed my cleavage and was kind of lacy. The dress was short. Just what was Maverick up to now?
I walked back into class, seeing that almost all of the students' eyes were on me. Professor Langston gave me a surprised look. "You are already getting into costume for the play? That is a wonderful idea. Having the princess disguise as a maid for the gang fight is genius. In fact, I think that you should be Prince Rainier's maid. I think instead of putting Sasha, Hunter, and Taj in a new group, I will add them to this group. Hunter auditioned this morning, and he was excellent! He can play as Quentin since the original person who was going to play for some reason dropped out of my class."
I said nothing, but just nodded wordlessly. There was no way I would explain to her what was really going on, seeing what Maverick's psychopathic self was able to pull in a matter of mere minutes. How the hell did he know how to hack, and why was it not surprising that he was a genius at hacking? The fact that he was still in college when he could have chosen to get a high paying job already was really suspicious. I had to uncover that mystery soon to get back at him. This seemed to be a cover up.
I knew that this had to be Maverick's doing in order to mess with Sasha. And if he messed with Sasha, it would unleash the side of her that acted like the Wicked Witch of the West. Sasha appeared furious while Maverick, looking unbothered, calmly crossed his left leg above his right leg. He leaned back in his chair and smirked when he saw that I was looking over in his direction.
By then, Maverick's hair had been restored to its original color. He had skipped his first class, but gotten all the notes by threatening other students. That was what Keisha had informed me about. Maverick had yelled at me before class, saying that it had taken two hours for his hair to be fixed. He couldn't wait freaking two hours because of how impatient he was?! That made me feel even more apprehensive about this new diabolical plan of his.
