Chapter 12 - The Nightmare Begins

'It's hard to wake up from a nightmare, if you aren't even asleep?'

Itachi's P.O.V

The ravenette looked down at the troubled and fearful shinobi. He thought of it as a disgrace that they could fall for his genjutsu so quickly.

Itachi walked over to the Kyuubi container who was lying on the floor. He kicked him over onto his back.

"It seems your plan worked?"

Itachi looked up to his his orange haired leader, who had walked in with a plain and expressionless face.

"Yes but, I haven't activated the genjutsu yet," Itachi stated and looked back at the helpless shinobi that were on the floor, "Sakura is still with Sasori-san right?"

"Of course," Pein nodded his head, "We instructed her to not interfere with this mission of ours."

"Good," Itachi nodded his head in approval, "Tell Deidara to bring in the decoy." Itachi ordered before walking back over to them.

A smirk tugged at the ends of Itachi's lips, "The nightmare begins...now."

••• Kakashi's P.O.V•••

The silver haired Jōnin blinked a few times before realizing where he was. They were back where they started, near the whole the created to sneak inside.

"Kakashi-sensei," Naruto whispered, "I don't remember being in this room" he murmured looking around.

"That's because we've already been in this room baka" Ino hissed lowly.

"Then why are we back where we started!" Naruto groaned.

"Shut up!" Ino clenched her fist punched him on the back of his head.

"ITA!" Naruto shouted in pain, holding onto his head.

"Will you to quit it" Shikamaru sighed and shook his head.

"Wait," Kakashi ordered, holding his hand up, "Did you hear that?"

Everyone grew silent and payed more attention to their surroundings. For a moment they heard nothing then they heard the sound of faint foot steps coming towards them.

"Someone is coming this way!" Shikamaru's eyes widened, everyone gasped not knowing where to go, there weren't any rooms they could hide in and they all wouldn't make it out of the hole in time.

Kakashi grabbed a kunai out of his pouch and twirled it around his index finger, before clenching it into his hand.

They watched as the sounds of footsteps grew closer and closer and the sound of panting become louder and louder. Kakashi's clutched the kunai tighter preparing himself.

Just when Kakashi went to lunge forward into his enemy he froze when the figure came into view.

A pink haired Kunoichi came zooming down the hall showing a grimace of fear and terror. She didn't even notice her friends standing their shock.

"SAKURA-CHAN, WAIT!" Naruto shouted. Everyone watched her disappear down the hall.

Just then another shadow was heading towards them, they took their attention of off the scared pinkette that they've been searching for and back to enemy coming towards them.

A black haired man, who was wearing on of the cloaks identifying that he was part of the organization, came strolling down the hall. His eyes fixated on the fearful kunoichi who came running down the hall.
