Chapter 13

"Hey, how can you remember all the moves?" Yi Chen grabbed his head in frustration. It's just been three months that Bao Yu started to learn Martial arts but she already learnt all the moves in taekwando.

"Hey I only know the moves I don't even know whether I can fight with it or not" Bao Yu replied to Yi Chen who was glaring at her.

"Why don't you join the martial arts competition with me? I'm sure you will be champion" Master Yi said to her.

Quickly Bao Yu shook her head, "Master, I can memorise anything but I can't fight. I'm too scared to hurt others and getting hurt"

"Ah! Now I understood why you rejected me when I asked you to watch my match" Yi Chen remembered that so many times he asked Bao Yu to come for his match to cheer for him but Bao Yu rejected him every time.

"Yeah, you are right. I can learn it for self defense. But I really can't hurt others. I don't have the courage to do it" Bao Yu shook her head.

"I can feel that. You know the moves but whenever I ask you to compete with others you starts to hesitate. If you do that in real match I'm sure you'll be knocked out in a second" Master Yi said to her.

"In upcoming match the prize for winners are really unimaginable. They're giving cash prizes. I will definitely become a winner and buy lot of video games with that money" Yi Chen put his hands on hips and laughed like a madman.

Master Yi kicked his leg, "Do two hundred push up without taking break. If I saw you taking break then I will break your legs"

Yi Chen pouted and started to do push ups. Bao Yu shook her head at him helplessly.

"What happened to the short story contest? Did they announced the result" Master Yi asked her.

"Yeah, unfortunately I didn't get to win" Bao Yu looked sad.

Master Yi looked at her sad face, "It doesn't matter whether you win or not when you do the things you like. If you lose this time maybe you'll win for the next time. So don't give up"

Bao Yu nodded her head with a smile. Madam Yi house was like a second home to her where she can relax without any worries.

When Bao Yu reached Papa Ning's house, she saw everyone looked suspicious. When she enters the room she felt them whispering at each other.

After taking a shower she went to have dinner, surprisingly everyone was so quiet even Bao Yu can hear the crickets sound from outside.

Suddenly Ning Xuan banged the table, "I can't take it anymore" she grabbed Bao Yu's wrist and dragged her to the yard.

"Tada" Ning Xuan showed her newly brought bicycle, "Papa Ning bought it for you" and gave her the key.

"Hey, we decided to tell her once she finish eating the dinner" Bai Ling smacked her head. "You're really impatient" Qing Ze messed Ning Xuan's hair.

"I really can't take it anymore. I almost died from keeping it as secret" Ning Xuan clutched her heart dramatically.

Bao Yu was still shocked from seeing the bicycle as a gift. If you ask her what she likes the most, the answer will be riding bicycle. Back in her school days she used to ride bicycle with her friends and she loved it a lot.

Papa Ning looked at her nervously "Do you like it?" Bao Yu nodded her head continuously, "I love it"

Papa Ning was glad that she liked it. He was worried that she might reject his gift.

"He knows that you didn't win the short story contest. So to cheer you he bought this for you" Bai Ling comment made Ning Xuan to punch his stomach, "Don't rub it in"

Bao Yu mentally slapped Bai Ling in her mind. "Hey, stop glaring at me before I poke your eyes" He pointed his finger at her.

Bao Yu really got annoyed and bit his finger hard. He screamed a loud, "Are you what a dog?"

Bao Yu breath in and out not to fight with him. She went to Papa Ning, "Thanks for the gift. I will use it well"

Papa Ning caressed her hair and smiled, "Let's go finish our dinner"

He took her inside. Bai Ling was still shouting at the yard. Papa Qing smacked his head, "You deserve it"

Next day as usual Bao Yu was helping Sister Mei in the kitchen, suddenly Madam Yi said that someone was looking for her. So she washed her hands and went to meet the person.

"Come here. He said he wanted to talk to you something important" Madam Yi made her sit in front of the stranger. She went inside leaving the two alone.

Bao Yu raised her eyebrow in confusion and looked at him. He was wearing a formal navy blue suit. He's looking handsome than Qing Ze and Bai Ling. Maybe he's in early twenties. Bao Yu was almost awestruck when their gaze met.

"Hello, My name is Zhan Xiao. I have seen your short story. I really liked it a lot. If you are interested do you want to work with me?" He said with a smile which almost blinded her. He was looking like a character who just came out of the comics.

Bao Yu mentally slapped herself and she shook her head, "I'm sorry. I don't understand"

"I read your short story. It's kind of touching and interesting. So If you have any other work I want to publish it as a book" Zhan Xiao said to her.

Bao Yu looked up and down at Zhan Xiao and slammed the table, "You. Do you think I'm just a kid so you can cheat me? Let me tell you mister I'm older than you. So don't even think about to cheat me"

Zhan Xiao chuckled at her cute expression. At first he wants to ask how was she, but after seeing her he just want to get to know more about her. So he deliberately didn't asked her.

From her reaction he was sure that she doesn't that he was the one who saved her.

Zhan Xiao was worried about her when he left her in the hospital with her so-called family. He know that for sure Bao Yu don't have any clue about the person who saved her the other day. But still he couldn't stop thinking about her outburst.

He keep on wondering what could have happened for her to shout like that. His curiosity was killing him. Finally his assistant Ji Yao, couldn't take it anymore so he found about her joining the short story contest. Coincidentally ZhanXiao's company was publishing company.

When Zhan Xiao got to know about her entering the contest he personally went to the main office of the company which conduct the contest and read her story.

It was so good, but he wondered why they didn't selected her. Later he came to know that the winner of the contest was the nephew of the director of the company.

Zhan Xiao felt furious. He felt bad for  Bao Yu. So he decided to recruit her for his own company. Zhan Xiao was confident in Bao Yu, one day she might become a best author.

"You're older than me? I'm twenty two years old and I already set up my own company. Do you think you can fool me?" Zhan Xiao pinched her nose.

"Hey stop touching my nose" Bao Yu slapped his hand away.

"I really want you to work with me. But still you're an amateur so I will help you to enroll in the university. You don't have to pay me for that. Once your work make profit we will share it as forty - sixty percent. You're still young so we can make a contract for ten years. What do you think?" Zhan Xiao placed a contract on the table.

Bao Yu blinked her eyes continuously. What he said will benefit her in all the ways. But how can she trust a twenty two years old kid when she was already twenty seven mentally, she know how the world revolves.

Most importantly why does he want to recruit her who was still young. What if he decided to sell her after signing the contract? Or what if he asked her to do labour work? Or what if he try to sell her organs?

"Can you stop glaring at me?" Zhan Xiao started to feel comfortable as her attention was focused on him.

"You may not believe I'm learning martial arts. I may look stupid but I'm smart. So don't try to fool me" Bao Yu warned him.

Zhan Xiao sighed, "Kids these days always doubts others than a honest people" he placed his name card on her hand, "If you change your mind let me know at anytime"
