four years laterthe three of them were happy these past four years, ricky and nini have been going strong all these years. of course, they would have some fights and disagreements, but at the end of the day, they would apologize and work things out.
gracie, on the other hand, has been doing great as well. she loved the company and love that ricky and nini gave her. it looked like they loved her as their own.
one problem the couple had to face was to tell or break the news to gracie that they weren't her biological parents. She was already five years old and nini could not keep the secret any longer, so she suggested to break the news, ricky nodding in agreement.
it was hard. they spent the whole night comforting little gracie in her bedroom as she sobbed non stop on ricky's chest while nini was slowly rubbing her back. after a few minutes, she looked up to both ricky and nini. "how were they? were they good people? did they love me?"
nini's expression softened, "honey, of course they did. they loved you with their whole heart. i clearly remember how much they were so excited to meet you once mama isabella found out that she was pregnant with you. they made so much plans."
"yeah gracie." ricky replied as he pat the little girl's hair. "your mom and dad were our best friends and they were the most amazing and kind hearted people we know."
gracie gave a small smile, a few tears falling down. "i wish i could at least see them or give them a hug."
nini patted the girl's back, "i know you want to honey, but look, i think they are watching us from above right now." she replied as she pointed to the window, seeing two bright stars shining through the curtain. gracie couldn't help but smile again and this time, more tears came out of her eye. she walked towards the window, admiring the brightest stars that were shining. "even if i haven't met you both personally, i still love and miss you every single day."
gracie turned around to see both ricky and nini smiling. she ran towards the couple and wrapped them in a huge hug, "thank you for everything, for loving me as your own. i love you both very much."
ricky and nini both started tearing up, "we love you two honey."
"ok enough with the emotional stuff." nini pulled back first. "what about I make some lasagna? Show does that sound?"
ricky and gracie jumped for joy knowing that nini's famous lasagna is their absolute favorite. nini smiled at their gesture, giving gracie a quick kiss on her cheek while ricky on the lips. "ok, i'll be downstairs preparing."
nini walked out and ricky watched her leave the room. he spotted gracie standing in front of him with a pout on her face while her arms were crossed. "so when?!"
"when what?!" ricky asked in a confused tone.
"when are you asking mommy to marry you?"
"gracie!" ricky exclaimed while gracie gave a small giggle.
"i know you loved her so much daddy so i suggest do it soon." gracie smiled as she skipped out of the bedroom. on the other hand, ricky let out a light chuckle. he had been thinking about proposing to nini, it's just that they were so busy with work, and gracie just started going to school, so everything was tough. he grabbed his phone from his pocket and called his best friend, red. "hey man, i need your help. i think it's time."
